"Business hours 9-6 (m-f) BUT don't bother showing up after dark at ANY POINT, they won't show you a tour. The leasing agent at the time watched me walk up to the building as they drove away on their cart (515pm M) only to be greeted by a sign on a desk 'no tours after dark'. So if you're looking for a place in the winter, don't show up between 4-6pm. I only wish I snapped a picture of it."
"Johnathan was Amazing!! So polite and respectful of my space. I so appreciate his expertise in all aspects of fixing my garbage disposal. He went above and beyond with addressing my concerns, even providing a solution for the smell that comes with having a garbage disposal. When I mentioned that my dinning room light flickers, Johnathan didn’t hesitate to address the issue. Within minutes my dinning room lights were replaced and one of my bedroom light that also happened to be out was brighter. Johnathan is quick, knowledgeable, and oh so kind! My home is better and brighter having had him here. Thank you Johnathan for all that you do! I won’t wait for another inspection to have issues taken care of having met you!"
"Notice that all the positive reviews barely have any other things they've reviewed. Fishy. The community looks nice at first, but once you move here, you realize that the 9 million children who live here (I love kids, just not this many at once) run around unsupervised causing so much chaos. Some kids pound on my door and then run away, like every single day. The office does nothing. The kids leave trash, chalk art, and gum EVERYWHERE. Someone vomited in the grass and the spot has been there for about six months. A glass bottle of BBQ sauce was on the sidewalk for about 2 months before the glass was picked up. Very very young kids run around in groups of 10-20 on motorized bikes, scooters, and hoverboards unsupervised. I'm so afraid I'm going to hit one with my car or one is going to run into me while I'm walking my dogs. Kids play tag behind my patio and in huge groups throughout the complex. I work remotely and someone running and screaming past your windows repeatedly when you have dogs is so stressful. It's a non-smoking complex, but several people smoke on their balconies and it wafts into my unit. The office does not care. Actually good luck getting the office to call you back about anything. The dog park is covered in dog poop and is almost always covered in huge puddles of water and mud from the sprinklers as is the space behind my patio. The office can't decide how they charge you for water. I am one person and in October they charged me $100 for water and then the next month it was 25 bucks. It is so arbitrary and they give you the runaround when you ask about it. I definitely didn't cut back my water usage by 75% that month. They overwater (at your expense BTW) the lawn so that the ground is so soggy that grass can't even grow in some spots. The area behind my patio is a mud pit. The trash people only pick up my trash like 40% of the time, but it's mandatory to pay the 360 dollars for the service every year. One time the mail person left EVERYONE's packages laying on the ground in the rain outside by the mailboxes. They literally just put them face up on the sidewalk for anyone to help themselves to. I have missing mail on a weekly basis. I have lived here for more than a year and they had an annual inspection (they call it annual, but we had twice this year) where they admitted later that they were looking at everyone's belongings to see if they had any animal items. I find that intrusive. The office knew about my pets before I moved in but suddenly they "noticed" I had pets after this inspection and made it seem like I was pulling a fast one against them. No, I literally have the proof via my original lease that I told you about my pets before move in. They made me sign a new document about my pets this month when I've lived here for 13 months! Soundproofing is terrible. I can hear my neighbors cough or talk. The neighbors above me are so loud, but they are just living their lives. The building is just not built well. When I first moved in I called maintenance because the kitchen sink faucet was so hard to move and turn on. The maintenance person told me that they were just brand new and would break in soon. I finally changed the faucet myself. It was so gross and rusted on. Far from new. My bathroom faucets are also faulty, but I don't even calling maintenance anymore because they flat out lie to you and I don't trust them anymore. Also similar units to mine are now going for much less a month and I've lived here for more than a year and just renewed my lease last month (I wrongly decided I hated moving more than staying here, but now I regret that choice). Also there is a cow farm nearby so be prepared for it to always smell like cow manure outside and inside your space. The office is so insanely drenched in perfume that I can taste it and feel it in my throat. I get a massive headache whenever I go in there which keeps me from using the gym. It's seriously an insane amount of perfume. If I were you, I would choose somewhere ELSE to live."
"In the 20 years that I have been renting I have never been evicted. Until, the assistant manager and leasing agent harassed me for renters insurance (that I provided upon move-in) every month I lived there until they filed an eviction with the court for renters insurance that I had. I actually had 3 different policies by mistake because they harassed me regularly for proof. I was so busy working 80 hours a week I thought I overlooked it. I kept getting a new policy every time I received notice. These apartments falsely report to the court systems and credit bureaus through illegal tactics. After I gave 30 day notice and moved out. They still evicted me though the courts without my knowledge and immediately reported an outrageous balance to the credit bureau within the same month after I moved out. By the time I received the final move-out packet from Highland Crossing it was also on my credit report. The management sends threatening emails monthly, refuses to properly treat flea infestations, & enters apartments without proper notice. One incident I was asleep naked in my apartment when they entered and refused to leave until I told them to get out and properly notify me or make an appointment. The also requested that I provide proof of updated income after about 3 months of living there. Although, proof of income was provided with the application. Homeless people living in their cars live on the streets outside of the apartments so you have no privacy even in your own home because they are in direct view of your windows. The mail person picks and chooses when and what mail to deliver. I literally stopped receiving mail 2 months after I moved in. I still never received any of my packages they never delivered."
