"I found this on a list of the 10 most beautiful bookstores in Washington and oh boy was I disappointed. This is a pretty basic small used bookstore. There’s really nothing special about it aside from the good diverse selection of books by minority authors and that’s the only thing saving this from being a one star review. While that section is prominent and well done the rest of the store is poor. Poor selection, poor layout, rickety shelves, and a surprisingly small space for a business that advertised “nearly a full city block of books.” It’s honestly a large bedroom of books or a rumpus room of books unless the city is in Lilliput."

"I have enjoyed coming to this store now and again. The staff were nice, they gave me a book rec that I liked and ended up buying. They have both new and used books alike, I have to plan out time to visit because I end up perusing numerous titles across different genres. They have ample seating across the store, so you can do just that. They also host variously themed monthly book clubs (Ex. Feminist Utopia, Tacoma Sister Cities, Buddhism Today, etc.), and hold regular community events. King’s Books has an overall great and welcoming atmosphere. I am thankful for the time I have spent here and for their business!"

"I had a lovely time at Kings Books for a reading of Robert Lashleys new novel. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is plenty of seating for an intimate reading. There is a large selection of books. You could peruse the shelves for days."
