"Don't go here. They're not very aware of how it is to be a victim of domestic violence or sexual assault. They put on a public appearance of being a place to go for help but they're not very helpful at all. The director Heidi is a narcissist herself. Don't waste your time here."
"I’m almost in tears right now and so upset. I am trying very hard to find resources to protect my kids and myself from danger. I went into the office yesterday to try to fill out an ACP but got no help and instead it seemed the girl there was trying to act like a counselor or something. There was a time for that…about 12 years ago when I needed to find the courage to leave my abusive ex. But now I am trying to find a way to keep my information private and safe so that my kids and I will be safe. I had this same terrible experience years ago when I went to this same office after my ex (who had all the money) hired a lawyer and tried to take my kids after I finally got the courage to leave him. The office in Skagit seemed to know nothing about how to help me or about any resources for me. I think their staff needs a lot more education on how to actually help abuse victims. Now I had to drive all the way to Providence in Everett to get help and so far the staff here seem to understand what I need and are on top of it with knowing how to help someone with address confidentiality. I would rather not have had to drive all the way to Everett though or have wasted several hours of my time yesterday."
"HORRIBLE!!! I turned to this office for help getting out of the state and after stringing me along for almost a month, told me that DSHS couldn't help me (they went to DSHS on my behalf). When confronted, program director says they have no idea what the requirements are to get relocation assistance from DSHS even though they are contracted through DSHS. I was victimized by the very agency that gets donations and state funds to help survivors like me! I was able to bypass this office and go to DSHS and get the help that I need. And this during Domestic Violence Action month! OUTRAGEOUS CONDUCT BY PEOPLE NOT DOING THEIR JOBS BUT STILL COLLECTING A PAYCHECK."
"I spoke with Bridget and she was incredibly helpful and reassuring. I recommend contacting them for any sort of domestic issues, violence and trauma."
"I didnt end up needing them But they took me in Without a moments hesitation"
