Clarion Hotel Portland International Airport

"The staff here are truly a group of wonderful and caring individuals. While the hotel was under massive construction I had low expectations other than a discounted room for a flight early the next morning. From the front desk, to the breakfast prep, to the shuttle drivers, everyone was incredible in a way that I have really never experienced at an airport oriented hotel. Will use this hotel anytime I need a night near PDX."

"Surprised and Shocked We had no idea there was a massive remodel happening at this property, inside and out. What was shocking was the open holes in the ceilings and hanging/ missing smoke detectors in hallway. We wished there had been some info about it from Choice Hotels when we booked, unacceptable. Not a welcoming feeling, very uninviting. Our room was fine, bed comfortable, wifi good, clean. Some airport noise, but we were happy to be just five minutes from the airport. The price was right for a basic 3ish star hotel."

"Our flight was delayed out of PDX and we were desperate for a hotel room for the night. We were lucky enough to find one here. The hotel is in the middle of a remodel. But the staff made up for any inconvenience. Seriously, so accommodating and helpful at every step. From check in (Mona) to our shuttle driver (Jordan), all of them made our lemons into lemonade."

"I stayed here in December with my partner. When we arrived we were shocked to find that the hotel was a complete construction zone. The pool and gym were closed due to construction and open insulation, wired and construction debris lined every hallway. This was not noted upon booking. We arrived late following a cross-country flight only to be awoken at 4AM by an ear piercing alarm. When leaving our room to see what was wrong the elevator was disabled and all hallway doors shut for security measures. After talking to the front desk we were told it was a minor gas leak due to the renovations. We tried to go back to bed but were woken two more times. This was incredibly upsetting to my partner, who has military related PTSD and it put them in an agitated state for the rest of the morning. We contacted management and were told they would not refund our stay because we booked with their partner, Alaska Airlines. After reaching out to Alaska Airlines, who contacted Clarion on our behalf, we were still not able to have the substantial amount of airline miles we used for this stay credited back to our account. I am incredibly upset with the way this was handled and will not be booking with Clarion or Alaska Airlines Hotels again."
