Originally founded in 1968 as Downey Carpets and Furniture by Lester and Faye Downey, the store has evolved into the premier furniture store in the Gorge. In the early eighties, Ron and Carol Vergeer took over the store from Carol's parents, and in 2022, Bob and Debbie Wickwire acquired the store from Debbie's folks.

"My father misplaced his hearing aid and was adamant he had lost it in the recliner. This amazing company came to the house, looked for it, took the recliner down to the store and nearly disassembled the chair in search of the hearing aid (which was not in the chair). They brought the chair and did not charge us. Long story short, the cat took off with the hearing aid and batted it under the closet! This company exhibits exemplary customer service and will be a place we continue to purchase from and would highly recommend to family, friends, and acquaintance!"
