"Disappointed that the service department said it would be a 4+ hour wait for minor service (that I had scheduled the previous week and been told would take about 2 hours). I'd actually asked about a loaner when I made the appt, but was told it wasn't an option since the service didn't take that long. And so I made plans to wait the few hours. I get that stuff happens (was told that the department was short techs when I tried to drop off). But my appt was late morning - someone could have called me before I drove down."
"We are extremely disappointed with the quality and attention to detail with Carter’s oil change and service appointments. We had our 2021 Forester serviced one month ago and when driving over to Leavenworth to visit family for the holidays the wiper fluid began freezing and blocked the nozzle, very odd considering the temperature was only 27 degrees. This made the drive very dangerous and stressful as we were no longer able to clean the windshield while driving up Steven’s pass. After stopping at a service station and chipping away frozen fluid and replacing with -20 rated fluid everything worked just fine, even as temperatures dropped into the single digits. So, whether the fluid was cut with water or low quality fluid was used, this is completely unacceptable considering the cost."
"Very disappointed in the level and quality of customer service from Carter Subaru Service Department. After having our 2021 Subaru in for an initial oil change in Ballard, we went to another Subaru dealership to have the next oil change and l were told that they were unable to get a screw out of the oil pan due to how it had been put in and it would be a $550 charge to replace the full oil pan. When I called the Carter Subaru Service Department it took me 8 times of calling to get through and when I finally did I was told in a very curt manner that it wasn’t their fault and I couldn’t prove that it was. They told me I could send pictures but it was very unlikely that they would cover anything. I am disappointed by the lack of customer service and ownership of responsibility from the Carter Subaru Service Department. We took our car in to have an oil change and have now walked away with a $550 fee that they refuse to address as their mistake."
"This is where I go for all factory-scheduled maintenance needs and Carter has been consistent. They may charge slightly more than other dealerships and it is worth it, their service is better. Everyone at Carter is helpful and provides good recommendations. Have used a couple other dealerships and still come back to Carter. Can be tough to get an appointment, recommend scheduling proactively."
"I hope to find a better place to bring my car in the future. I brought my car in with a transmission issue. The service advisor suggested a regular maintenance might address it and the car should be ready in 4 hours. I never heard back. I called before the end of the day and sat on hold for 10min before getting disconnected. I called again, 10min on hold then disconnected. When I finally talked with the service advisor he said the car was ready and I could pick up that day or tomorrow. I returned in the morning. When I arrived he mentioned the issue I had with my car was not fixed and gave me a quote for the replacement. I paid for the maintenance service and left with my car. After watching a YouTube video I fixed the issue in my own for $30 and 15 min a work. My quote was $150. In the end, I paid hundreds of dollars for a regular maintenance, and didn’t get my initial issue fixed which could have been a 15 minute fix. I did receive a discount for my troubles but I would have preferred an acknowledgment that my service appointment had wasted a fair amount of my time and spent the little extra time actually solving the primary issue."
