"It is with a sad heart that I am writing this report. I have been with Ace Auto for a while now. They’ve always been very accommodating, great to work with, speedy. However, my last couple of times, haven’t been quite so much. So buckle up for the story. Someone tried to steal my car a little over a year ago. Even with full insurance involvement, I ended up paying $1600 out of pocket. I was confused, not really understanding how that came to be, but wanted to trust the process. Flash forward and it happens again. Albeit, with a lot less damage. So I take it in, and they say great, they’ll do a courtesy inspection and send out the report. The report spoke to the torn up ignition, the broken window and then other things like bulbs out, some dings. But also, that my front pistons had seized and they recommended replacement of front brakes due to the calipers being locked. I called and got the following quotes: $651 and change for the steering, $660 and change for the window replacement and a loose estimate of $1800-$2000 for the front brake work. Having learned my lesson from last time, I was clear to say, this is the TOTAL estimate, yes? Yes, confirmed. I’d just gotten my brakes done within the last year so I took that off their list so I could take it up with my brake guy. I said go ahead with the steering fix and window. I then called a reco from my brake guy who will replace the window for $300. Ok, so we are off to a bad start on this pricing issue. The steering is fixed and now my bill is $890 (w/tax). Here’s my problem: there are always “gotchas” in their invoicing. I was told the inspection was a courtesy, but the invoice says the courtesy inspection was free, but that there was a 2nd theft inspection, that cost $99.98. Then there are these odd add-ons of “shop supplies” and a charge for using a payment method other than cash. I was told the “shop supplies” was their charging me use of their tools. Huh?? I’m a single mom of two who was paying this out of pocket. The communication here is completely full of holes, and you will pay. After discussing this with Trevor, he provided a $40 discount, on an $800+ bill. Be warned, read everything over before you sign anything. I’d signed my car in, only to find it was actually an authorization of the theft inspection charge. Even though it wasn’t presented to me that way. They are not at all transparent with the charges they’ll impose on you. My advice: shop around. If you do decide to go here, always ask for EVERYTHING in writing before the repair work and not just a verbal which comes from the call-them-with-questions off the condition report. Full estimates, not just bits and parts, which is what they will tell you, thinking you’ll be paying one price and finding out it’s quite a bit more in the end because they only quoted 1 component of the full bill. And my brakes? My brake guy said they were just fine and well over 60%. He tested the calipers and they were fine & functioning. And yes, Trevor used the doctor analogy on me. So no need to talk to that, Dave. And I know you'll ask, so this is Alisa M. Update: I got my car back and the steering wheel is rubbing against the steering column and the steering wheel was put back on lopsided. Sigh, I will have to take time out of my day to go back to get this fix finished correctly."
"I had to have my Hyundai Tucson towed into the shop at the last minute for rear axle damage and the tan at Ace Auto repair was super accommodating. I mostly worked with Trevor, who was very helpful through the whole process, including working with insurance and keeping me in the loop about timelines. I would absolutely use this shop again."
"Would highly recommend! I went here to do diagnostics on my electrical system since it didn’t start and I was recommended to get a new alternator at an auto parts store. They were able to reply to me the next morning after emailing them and get me in the following day. They did a thorough diagnostic and got the car tuned after not driving it for a while. They also confirmed it only needed a battery and explained that sometimes the reading on tests at stores can be wrong. I was also grateful for them getting it all done that day and texting and emailing their service report and letting me contact them when it was convenient after. I also enjoyed chatting with everyone there and they gave me some nice tips as I told them I’m planning to sell the car after. Would definitely come back!"
"I was introduced to Ace Auto Repair & Tire Pros by a gentleman selling his car, who had it regularly serviced by them, and I thought it best to have them perform a "tune up". They did a great job, and identified some things that needed tending to, prior to gifting it to my daughter. The Ace Auto Repair & Tire Pros team is very thorough, and it's great that they share their findings on line as this helps to move things along faster. I also found it great that their offices and garages are kept so clean - I've never felt good about leaving a car in the hands of a repair shop where things weren't kept all that tidy. I would very strongly recommend Ace Auto Repair & Tire Pros. Dave and Paul there were great and made my daughter's experience with onboarding her "new" car a great experience for sure. I'm confident that she'll check in with them again once she's back in Seattle permanently."
"What a great shop. Guys at the front desk are super personable and remembered me after only one visit. Went in to get a tire repaired and was told they could get to it the next day. To my pleasure and surprise they called me later that day. I've been going to a different shop for general auto maintenance but the kindness and care the staff paid me forces me to consider switching mechanics. Big thanks to the guys at Ace!"
