Reviews of Cafe Zum Zum
"I used to eat lunch at least twice a week at Café Zum Zum when they were in the prior two locations. Since they moved to Century Square, I no longer work in downtown Seattle so I have not been able to eat there. They have the best Middle Eastern Pakistani food I’ve ever had. The curry is amazing, the lamb is unbeatable, I just wish I knew how to make it like he does. The owner is a wonderful friendly man. I wish we had a restaurant like that around here. I now live in Aberdeen I do want to say thank you for the years of service while I was in Seattle, and all the great lunches that I had at Cafe Zum Zum."
"I had the worst customer service experience of my life at this place. If you don't value self-respect, you can visit this place. We spent over $60 on food, but the person on cash was consistently rude to us. We were ordering food and he started shouting leaving us uncertain that we are committing some crime by ordering more food from him. If someone asks fork or cold drink after ordering food he starts shouting. He serves food in such a way that he's offering the finest food in the entire USA, which is far from the truth. And if he will not serve food, peole will starve to death. I didn't see tortillas in a desi restaurant before and this credit goes to Zum Zum that they don't make authentic bread as it's impossible to not have desi bread in a desi restaurant. Moreover, rice was also full of oil. We should also accept our mistake that we didn't see bad google reviews so fortunately we learned a lesson. We came at Seattle for a trip and this guy ruined our day."
"Decent place and good food. This is inside the building on the first floor with two more food places adjacent and a common seating around. Seems this place is here since the 90s. Owner was welcoming. I had the lamb and rice and it was delicious. The green tangy sauce that came along with it was my favorite. Next time I will ask for two more of those.."
"I worked in Downtown Seattle for many years, and had lunch at Cafe Zum Zum going back to the mid-1990's, I think. My favorite meal is the Mixed Vegetable Curry, which comes with rice. Even though I'm now retired, I recently stopped by at Cafe Zum Zum's "new" location Downtown in Century Square and had a great lunch. It was so nice the owner remembered me after an absence of several years (due to my retirement). You won't get that kind of service at a chain restaurant."
"A great Indian |Pakistani place for lunch, usually there is a long line, sometimes even outside the restaurant. Service was fast, I was able to look at the options & point at what I need & there were able to pour my curry / side of choice over some Indian spiced rice with chickpea on it. I was actually craving for some Indian dal, & my colleague read my mind & took me here. I opted for some hot dal over rice, & managed to find a place to sit as well. The dal was beautifully cooked with balanced spices, not too hot & not too bland. I must admit that it’s not the best, but maybe best among the rest in Seattle. The spiced rice was good too, mimicking a Biriyani albeit a vegetarian one. I am curious to try their meat options, sometime soon, before my Seattle trip ends, in a week."
