"My daughter signed up for soccer for the first time, and it's been a "few" years since I've played, so I wanted to shop at a store where employees would take some time to show me around and explain what to look for in the various items we needed. I've always had a great experience at various Big 5s, so I stopped into the Poulsbo store first because it was closest. The employees at Poulsbo were clearly NOT interested in helping us out, even though I spoke with two separate people and asked specifically to be shown the soccer gear and for help finding the right sizes. I received zero help in learning about the gear and how to properly fit it, etc., so I told my kids I'd rather take my business elsewhere. We ended up at the Big 5 in Silverdale, and our experience was night-and-day different. We were greeted immediately upon entering the store and personally walked around to where the soccer gear was kept. The Silverdale manager showed us features and benefits of the various items, sizing guidelines, encouraged my daughter to try things on, and he and the employees checked in on us throughout our time there to make sure we got the assistance we needed. Silverdale Big 5 may be smaller than Poulsbo, but I'll pass right by the Poulsbo store every time after today's experience."

"Got a pair of boots and shoes for skating for both my wife and I. Also got socks for us both and a couple of fun items like a crossbow that shoots darts and a cheap new pocket knife that feels like it punches above its price by at least 2 fold. Everything we purchased was decent-great quality for a fair price or cheaper than expected. Big 5 is a great place wish they carried a wider selection of firearms and ammo though."
