"Super cute and cozy bakery on the main drag in Lynden. My pattern lately seems to be going to bakeries in the late afternoon on weekends, when the best stuff is usually picked over and the pastries have been sitting in the case for a while. Today was no different as it was almost 3 pm. That didn't matter! Their cinnamon roll, which is the size of my face, was delicious with a ton of cream cheese on it. It's a multi-sitting size roll. I also picked up an almond pie, a maple bar for the husband, a lemon white chocolate muffin (also delicious and moist) and 2 ollibrullers. Fabulous. Minus a star for the odd checkout experience. In addition to pastries, they sell some Dutch cocoa, large coffee cakes, chocolates, etc. I picked up 2 nice chocolate bars to go with my haul, and the girl just scratched her head trying to ring them up. She told me they weren't in the system. A manager came by to help her and, I guess picked a price and said, "That looks fair." The girl told me the bars are $3.99 a piece and that it's sort of the price they settled on since they didn't have them in their system. I told her never mind. I asked if the bars were new to the shop and she said no, not really. Huh? Weird. Whatever. Everything else was-- in Afrikaans as I don't know proper Dutch -- "baie lekker""
"I found the prices expensive $$$ for what I got. There are no price labels so you just have to pick blindly your food. The peanut butter bar had a bitter taste at the end. It tasted like it was just packed down thick peanut butter with bad chocolate on the top. The cream puff was hard. The bakery expects you to bus your own table, lol. The place is nice but for the cost I was disappointed with the food. My companions felt the same. Won't be going again."
"Delicious baked goods. Great atmosphere! Great place to get some special gifts for friends and neighbors."
"First time visiting and wanted to check out their "Dutch" offerings. This bakery has a nice curbside appearance and welcoming atmosphere. I ordered a cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting and an almond tart. The almond tart was amazing!! So delicious and full of flavor! However, I was not impressed by the cinnamon roll. It almost tasted stale; dry and hard on the edges. It could've used a little more frosting, too."
"I have been coming to the Lynden Dutch bakery for over 20 years, and it is always a great experience and delicious baked goods. They have everything from donuts, scones, bread, pies, and all your favorite espresso drinks. Their pies are amazing. The Dutch apple pie is my favorite. They remodeled the inside in the last few years, and I must say I preferred the older version, but I understand this probably was better for business."
