"Called to have them look at my air exchanger system. Tech came out and said the issue was possibly an install issue and that he'd have the owner call/stop out to provide a quote. A week and a half passed and no call. I contacted the office and the lady answering the phone couldn't have been nicer. She said she'd speak with the owner (who actually lives a block away from me) and he'd be in touch shortly. Well 2 more weeks later still no call. I kind of have the impression that this contractor is only interested in new construction installs or easy fixes. That's completely cool with me but at least have the courtesy to call me back and let me know you're not interested in the job. I can at least respect that. I'll give Southport Heating and Cooling a call for this job and future services."

A note from me: I found from my research that Central AC units made in the US are all very similar. Trane might make 2 other units that have a different brand name, same thing with other top brands. I would recommend making your decision based on the contractor you pick. Do more research [as I did] on who the installer is. Are they local? Have they been in business long enough to have a good reputation? Last...do they try to sell you something you don't need? Good luck."
