"What is the difference between a painter and a professional painter? I found out when I hired Don. I originally planned to just have the house painted. The house was built in the late '80s and may have been stained once after that (purchased in 2011). When Don reviewed the structure he point out cracked cedar that should be replaced and other boards that needed to be repaired. Caulking was decades old, not sealing the boards on the house in many cases, or just too brittle to paint over if you are doing the job correctly. So in 2021 it was time for a refresh. Much to my pocket book's chagrin Don counseled me to 'fix it right' and make the repairs that would last on this house longer than I will. "Chaulky" is a very likeable guy, and always chatty. And his depth of knowledge about buildings was very apparent, day after day. He helped me with a house drainage problem, and fixed some drywall and perfectly matched some skylight area paint (ask him about his MATC training and paint mixing). How may painters do you know that worked painting the sliding roof structure of the Brewer's stadium? Don can tell you all about that too. I have one criticism of Don. He's too good and very much a perfectionist. If you want somebody to just do the absolute minimum, then look elsewhere. Down to the choice of stain he will and won't use, he a professional, detailed, and smart. Just don't let him look around too long -- he'll find all of your house's warts. The good news is he knows how to fix most of them too."

"Chaulky's did some deck repairs for us, stained our deck, and replaced the trim above our garage door. Don was friendly and great to work with. The work was good quality and Don checked with us to make sure we were satisfied and did some additional touch-ups we asked for. Would recommend!"
