Reviews of WisCARES
"Been with them for 5 years and they take good care of my Fur babies and they love them. They are very comfortable going to the vet."
"I called Wiscares to schedule an appointment. I was told it was supposed to be free and that I needed to bring in my cats for a check up in order to make sure the information they had for the dental work needed was accurate. I missed my scheduled appointment and was told to call back at 9am and request a new one. When I did, Tina, the manager, had me go through the new client forms to see what tier I was qualified for now. During the evaluation, I told her I didn’t have income but I had rent. She then said patronizingly, “Then how are you paying your rent?” And I said my parents are helping. I let that slide and continued on. When i finished, she told me “now you’re in the $15/appt tier”. But the week before I was in the free tier and nothing changed in my file. And they used to waive the fees for the first $60. When I brought this part up she said they no longer have do that. After I told her I was originally told the week before by an employee that I would have had a free visit, she backtracked and started making excuses about students/volunteers not being informed well enough (which I see is a common excuse they use based on other reviews) and then begrudgingly admitted “well yeah that was the last appointment on that tier so it was free.” When I mentioned I didn’t come in for the appointment but cancelled she said “right, so the next appointment would be free.” But that’s not what she was saying the entire time because “now you pay $15” is not “next time you pay $15”. I told her I wasn’t trying to be argumentative but that’s not what she said and I didn’t appreciate the tone she gave me earlier when I said I didn’t have income but had rent. She didn’t even apologize but again continued to gaslight me that she did tell me originally my next appointment would be free which is obviously not what she said. When I told her I didn’t like being gaslit and she could have just apologized for misspeaking because all this is highly unprofessional, she said again condescendingly “well I don’t think I misspoke but if you want an apology you can have one.” I said no nevermind let’s just go ahead and schedule she said “actually I’m going to get off the phone and we won’t be able to serve you any longer”. Not at one point did I raise my voice, swear or be rude. She got upset when I didn’t want her phony apology and decided she just didn’t want to help anymore. Then when I called back her co-worker Marlee did the same gaslighting “oh it sounds like it was a miscommunication between two people”. They’ve been behaving like this for a while and it’s absolutely trash that the UW co-signs this type of elitist/classist/ableist behavior that re-enforces respectability politics at the sake of my cat/emotional support pets health."
"Wanted my boy healthy and chipped. Could only do it a little at a time money wise. Took him in for neuter only all I could pay for at once. They were kind enough to donate the micro chipping flea tick and heart worm meds and testing.so Melted my heart to receive such a gift!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!"
"They’re seriously a blessing out on this Earth! They take such good care of our fur babies and did so well with my little guy when he went in for his neuter…he’s pretty picky but he took to the staff so fast! That’s a good sign! Thank you for all you do Wiscares!"
