"I'm not even sure where to begin quite honestly. Maybe with the fact that this man made promises he couldn't keep? Especially being in his position in the healthcare field, you should never tell someone how much time you can extend their llife. There were also many missteps, failures to communicate, outright refusals to perform simple, basic testing, and when asked to explore the underlying causes of symptoms that arose spontaneously everything was chalked up to the "nature of the disease". Sudden onset anemia, extreme swelling of the legs and feet to the point of blisters forming, and a long-standing open lymphatic wound were all things brought to this man's attention in addition to many other things that were essentially ignored.We were not presented with all treatment options and were told on many occasions that insurance doesn't like to cover certain things as an excuse as to why he wouldn't do things. When we finally consulted a second opinion he was furious that we would even consider another opinion. HUGE red flag considering anyone in his profession should have been encouraging second opinions from the beginning. He even had the audacity to send his resident fellow in to deliver the news that the cancer had spread to her lungs and that she only had weeks to short months to live. Mind you he didn't even have enough respect to deliver the news himself and he couldn't even wait until my Mom had someone in the room there with her. I was on the phone at work and conferenced in. In my opinion, this man should never be able to practice medicine and is a disgrace to the medical profession."
