"3 rd time getting my car serviced here every time. Without fail I get the worst service to the point that I would never get another Hyundai because of their service team. 1st time I went there I had to wait 1 hour and 15 min to be able to leave my car, dropoff line was over 15 cars long. Second time came in for a windshield recall, once I got home and turned on my wiper they had left the wiper almost dangling off and scratched my glass and side of car, had to come in and get it fixed. Yesterday I left my car for 4 hours. Tried to get in contact with my adviser to see when my car should be done for over 2 hours. Called service department 15 times, called Eli 8 times and left voice messages, called scheduling department and they said they would reach out. Came in to find out my car has been ready for over 2 hours. Eli seemed clueless and didn’t care that he never called me or got back to me. Being busy is not an excuse for always having bad service. Oh yea and all the additional services they always want to add on. Love my Hyundai but would never get another one due their service department."
"Have been a loyal customer of KM Hyundai for 10 years. My family has taken 3 Hyundais there for service, until this Fall, when I got a "Check Engine" light on my Tucson. Until this episode, I always got fair treatment & prices at KM Hyundai. First, it took a week of waiting until they could plug my car into their diagnostic machine. When I got their repair proposal, they wanted $1700, after adding on a number of services I didn't want, need, or asked for (ATF replacement, brake fluid flush, etc). The "Check Engine" light I came in for was attributed to a cylinder misfire code. Common sense tells you to do the cheapest and easiest thing first - replace the spark plugs - and see what happens. But that's not what these shysters proposed. They recommended a "combustion chamber cleaning service," and wanted $664! So assuming hourly labor at $100, that means they proposed 6 hours of work on my engine to "clean" it. When I pressed them to explain what this service is, why it takes so long, why it is so expensive, and why I need it, my questions fell on deaf ears. I refused all further work, and asked what it would take to put a new set of plugs in, and nothing else, so I could drive it off the lot. Estimate #2 came in for about $500 for 4 spark plugs. I refused this too. Once home I bought my own spark plugs for $12 /each and did the repair myself in 10 minutes. Car has worked perfectly. I have had enough of KMH's up-selling and bill padding, and I will never take my cars there for service ever again. I can see that they have sunk a lot of money into renovating a new showroom, and I guess they are going to pay for it by ginning up their receivables. Not on my dime. What a bunch of knuckleheads: it was more important for them to make a quick buck off of one inflated repair bill than it was to retain a long-term and loyal customer. Something must be wrong with business's leadership to encourage those kinds of priorities. Can't speak about their Sales Department, but I highly recommend you NEVER get your car fixed at Kearny Mesa Hyundai. The End."
"I have a recall on my 2017 Hyundai Sonata. It’s for the paint chips. I was put on the list about six months ago to get it taken care of and every time I call they say that they’re gonna call me back and they never do. It’s just very horrible customer service."
"I have a lease on a Hyundai and began having a VERY loud grinding noise when I come to a stop. Made an apt for a week out (soonest available) and arrived today only to me told my car will sit for 5 days for them to even begin a diagnostic. So I was asked if I can leave if for 5+ days. No courtesy ride home and no courtesy vehicle to be given. IF then Hyundai deems they are responsible to fix it they might allow me a rental for 1 or 2 days. Maybe. I am completely appalled by this service. I waited a week for this apt to be told my car will sit for a full week? What is the point of an appointment? And why should I have to pay for a rental car out of my pocket so my car can sit on a lot? Why not schedule an apt for when they can begin work, but apparently it doesn’t work like that. I was fully intending on leasing a new Hyundai when my lease was up but not after how I see how the service is handled when there is a problem. Brakes are a serious issue! I told them I felt unsafe and it made no difference."
