"I had originally signed a contract to have a roof done at my elderly grandmothers house. I was her power of attorney. She ended up passing away before the work could begin. Because I was not the executor of the estate. The job was canceled. Several weeks later I got an email saying that I was to pay them $299 nowhere in the contract was there a cancellation fee. When I spoke with the office manager, Francesca, she stated that they were charging me because of a city permit and an hour of her time. When I asked them about the city permit that was never used they said they got a partial return but we're still charging me this $299 fee. They actually threatened to send me to collections if I did not pay it!! When I called to speak to Francesca about it she was very rude and short with me and said that she had to go and would not speak to me any longer, I asked to speak with the owner and she told me that she was the office manager and there was nothing more to say. She then hung up on me... Unbelievable that they would charge me this fee and threaten to send me to collections when it wasn't my fault, and that my grandmother just passed away! Didn't matter to them one bit. Poor business ethics at its finest..."
