"2013 VW Touareg TDI had a major break-down on our vacation over the holidays just two days before 2023 New Years. We were so grateful to Kevin at Star Tech for getting the car into his shop, diagnosing the issue, and giving a sufficient cost estimate for us to decide on next steps. Over the following weeks Kevin communicated well as his technicians dug into the problems more deeply. Although the repair bill was nearly $5K, we were not shocked or surprised because Kevin was very honest and clear in helping us understand the issues. I flew back from AZ to Santa Barbara to drive the car home after the repairs were complete. My only reason for giving 4-stars instead of 5 was that my oil pressure light came on and I had to add a 1.25 quarts of oil. Also, the check engine light came on during the long drive home. I had my local VW dealership diagnose this, and it turned out that one of the EGR change over valves was not clipped back into its holder properly. Kevin made this right by paying for this diagnosis and repair with no complaints. So, aside from the stress of driving with the CEL on and the inconvenience of those issues, the car seems to be back to normal with several new parts and should be reliable. I would recommend Star Tech and Kevin's helpfulness and honesty."

"Came in today to get a smog test only because the DMV required I get a Smog Certification at STAR station. Kevin was polite and quick. I was in and out in under 10 minutes and passed. Total was $77.25 but was offered $5 off for review. So I paid a total of $72.25. Would recommend, especially if your getting the regular smog test because you can use the coupon."
