"This counseling center is the same location as the World Mission University. The director of World Mission University runs her counseling center here. Her name is Christine Hwacha Kim. She graduated in 2009 with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Biola University. She has the image of an ideal psychologist, because she has the looks and the charm. The interior design of the counseling rooms are well color coordinated and gives a warm atmosphere. She is one of two Korean Psychologists that takes Blue Shield Insurance in Fullerton that I was able to find which is why I went to her. I had this hope that it would be best to talk with someone that knows my culture. Unfortunately, she wasn’t the right fit for me. She reminded me of my mother which is having that old generation mind. Also the fact that I wasn’t able to get the marital therapy sessions I had requested. I wasn’t happy to be questioned about my marriage without having my spouse present. I mentioned wanting to have marital therapy to her directly several times, but she gave me excuses of why she thought it was best for me to deal with my issues first. She thought if I took care of my frustrations and knew how to control myself that there would be less problems with my marriage. I do agree that COULD be the case, but it did not feel right that I could be the primary problem of my marriage. I felt pretty angry about what was going on. I did 5 sessions with her trying to believe that she might actually have a point, but realized that the sessions weren’t going anywhere. So I politely told her over text message that I wasn’t coming in for future sessions. She doesn’t seem like a bad person. She just wasn’t the right fit for me. The important part to think about is “Is that person the right fit for me?” That’s it. She just wasn’t the right fit for me. But she could be the right fit for you. That’s what matters. I just wanted to share my experience. I hope it helps others making their decision in finding a therapist."
