"The VCA system is a bit over priced let’s get that out of the way, and they don’t have a payment plan set up. They do take care credit which helps a lot. That aside for this location all the doctors are great. I especially like Dr. Thomas and Dr. Cu (I might not be spelling that right). They’re great with my cats and I trust them whole heartedly. Dr. Geller is not the most sociable but he is committed and a great surgeon."
"Very sweet staff. My senior rabbit, Wall-e, was going downhill fast. I took him in this morning, and they gave me treatment options, but were honest in saying it didn’t look like a simple infection, and that at this point, whatever was wrong wouldn’t be very treatable, and he might not even survive the testing. I had him put down. They let me help hold him so he wouldn’t be as scared. I feel I did right by him by helping him go as painlessly as possible. Thanks to all the staff for making it easier. They even gave me a nose print and some fur in a little vial."
"This is business is dishonest-beware. The staff is nice and they might care about the patients, but they care more about the bottom line, A LOT more, and will manipulate you to pay. I brought in my sick exotic pet and explicitly stated that I did not want any services done with my consent and they agreed to do only the exam. But then when I came back to hear the results, I did not trust their diagnosis and recommendations (of a min $3500 treatment) and wanted to take her for a second opinion. They then listed the "services" they had done, and demanded I pay twice as much as I had agreed to for just the exam, because they would not return my pet to me without payment. I paid the ransom and left in tears, and went to VEG in Encinitas, who were much more transparent, let me stay with my pet as they examined her, and only did the services I consented to. They also determined that there was no hope for my pet at this time, which means VCA was trying to extort as much money as they possibly could before they knew my pet would die. Stay away from VCA. After it got incorporated, it is a Business first, and animal hospital second."
"We've been taking our pup here for the last 2ish years. Our most frequent services we used were Overnight Boarding and Sedated Nail Trim. It is very hard to find a place to trust especially with sedation AND to find a place that can handle a dog that is aggressive towards other pets. For boarding they have special services to keep him separate so there is no accidents. (SO STRESSFUL as the dog mom!!) After his first stay my fears were smothered! They absolutely loved our pup and I knew they actually cared about his well being & understood what type of care he needed. Every time we were there they would recognize him by name and adored having him. Now that we have moved out of state I had to request his medical records to another Vet. I talked with Jolene - She helped me transfer the medical records. She was incredibly sweet!!! So refreshing to talk to someone that is so cheerful!!!!! I am all about reviews and leave them honestly! I can't say enough good things! Over 2 years of visits almost every 6 weeks on average and then all the times we had to board him for our long weekend trips.....yes this place is GREAT!!!!!! Over that time period I can't even recall having any type of issue with the staffing or services big or little. Hope this helps someone who is looking for a great place to trust with their pets."
"Comfortable waiting room, helpful receptionist. Relief areas for dogs outside. Professional & knowledgeable staff happy to answer questions. Nurse and Veterinary Doctor explained symptoms and possibilities related to our pet's illness. Unfortunately after x-ray & diagnosis, our pet had a degenerative terminal illness, and the only logical solution was to humanely euthenize (I decided). I deeply appreciate the patience and compassion shown by the Doctor, nurse and attending staff at Acacia. The sincerity and compassion spoke volumes to us."
