"Started off good when the Colma location opened and now has a time share vibe locked into wellness plans without value. Dental cleanings use to make the plan worth it however now service is denied for any test outside parameters. $800 for cat X-rays plus $200 to interpret resulting in an inconclusive diagnosis. People up front and cordial and vets communicate by phone only."
"Just a few, but major, things to say about this clinic. 1.) TERRIBLE customer service with a lot of discrepancy with the information. If you want you and your pet to get the best information with clear guidance, don't go here. 2.) There is a lack of communication with staff and customers. For instance, vets who are meant to have an appointment at a certain time sometimes are not there and aren't communicated with you until you arrive, making you wait even longer or for nothing. 3.) Staff do not even try to service their paying customers with pets who entrusted them with their attention. They have never greeted us when walked in even if we're the only ones. Prior appointments will take longer (which is fine) and make you wait longer, but will even lead to the front desk staff (who shows a lot of attitude to other customers and staff btw) saying they didn't see you wait in the waiting room before your appointment time and will hit you with the "you were late, so we cannot service you and your dog" line. 4.) Also, if you put your pets into medication needed to see the vet and recommended by the vet, there's a chance they will not even see you, so your pets will go through all that for nothing. 5.) And as many people say from word of mouth, this place prioritizes profit over pets. Do yourself a favor and don't go here. It's great that some customers had great experiences, but the inconsistency and variety in reviews will make you question as to why - this is why. Things were a lot better a year ago, but now I question our membership with Banfield Pet Hospital. I really hope more people will start doing more reviews. I heard way more negative experiences from word of mouth, especially due to the lack of empathy from staff. Just ask around before you trust the 5 star reviews here. We had crying family in front of the staff, but no empathy at all? The front desk staff would not even consider to give us her name, because she knows full well that she is not doing well at her job. Just with this experience alone, please reconsider your medical service for your pet with this place."
"Scenario: We were 5 mins late to our dog’s appt as we walked in literally right behind a lady who walked to the “eyeglasses front desk lady” so she was taken first. We waited, then another worker came out and said we were already 10 mins late and that their grace period is 10 mins. My daughter said we were here at 5:35pm, the front desk lady was with the other lady and no one was there to take us. Then the vet said only 5 mins grace period. Which one is correct 5 or 10 mins grace period? So you guys can just turn us away?(What about when we wait for us to be called in for our dogs’s appointment. Don’t we just wait quietly?). No öne listened to us that we came in at 5:35. Our dog was on sedatives for that appointment. No empathy as a pet health care facility!. That lady in eyeglasses and that other coworker has the worst customer service! So next time when they let you wait for your dog’s appointment, DEMAND that they should see your dog at the scheduled time! They don’t even know and don’t follow their own policy! We are NOT going back to this Banfield pet hospital in Colma. Not considerate! They don’t listen. That eyeglasses lady lied that she didn’t see us come in. As if saying the door is 20 ‘ away from the desk. She in her worst mood of the day but my daughter said she is always like in that attitude. We like Banfield Colma before, NOT ANYMORE! I’m sure there are other Banfields with accommodating, considerate and caring employees. Me and my daughter both work in customer service and we do above and beyond because that how customer service should be and to think that it is supposed to be a health care facility for our beloved pets. ZERO STAR!"

"The staff is just so so friendly, it’s refreshing. From the front desk to the vet, everyone was nice and taking the time to answer our questions. We went there to get papers for international travels and everything went smoothly. Called 36 hours before flying to get a new drug prescription and they delivered it in time."
