"I saw David Roethe as a teen struggling with major depressive disorder. I didn't find him helpful in any way. We were unable to build a rapport that I now know is essential to a positive therapy experience. I could not trust him, as our appointments were often directed by my mother and reported directly to her instead of focusing on my own thoughts and feelings. We never made it past small talk in the months that I was seeing him. I had a very negative reaction to a medication he prescribed, which is now commonly known to cause suicidal thoughts and actions among teens.
