"I had them tape the handlebars and do a tune up on my road bike. The handlebar tape was absolutely perfect and it was very affordable. My only complaint is that they did neglect to adjust one of my brakes. I didn’t catch it until after picking up my bike- had I noticed it at the time of picking it up they probably would have adjusted it for me. They are very friendly."

"I went here in summer 2022, after buying an old steel bike off Craigslist. I could see that the rear wheel wobbled and needed truing. MJ's quoted me $140 to true the wheel, overhaul the bottom bracket (that had a click when pedaling) and tune up the bike. Not only did MJ's not true the wheel (claiming the spokes were too rusted), they also did not touch the bottom bracket. But they did charge me $70 for a "basic tune" (lubed the drivetrain, checked limit screws and tightened brakes). Being a cycling newbie I accepted this and paid up. Fast forward to 2024, I now have two new road bikes, have done a bit of wrenching on them and have ridden a few thousand miles. I know how trivial it is to do a "basic tune" (especially on a bike that has friction shifters and needs no indexing). It's a five-minute job. Charging $70 for it is egregious. Charging $70 to do almost none of the work that you quoted is at best incompetent and at worst, extortionate. I cannot in good conscience recommend your bike shop to anyone. Oh and the old steel beater? I took it to the good ol' bike shop in ocean beach (the one whose name starts with a 'B'). They charged me $20 to replace a rusty spoke and true the wheel. I still ride that bike from time to time."

"Really happy this store took over the corner spot on Park and University. Karissa is super rad and will get you rolling. I didn’t expect to buy a bike on the spot but I fell in love after the test ride. Had some accessories put on and the bike prepped while we had lunch. You get a 5 year maintenance plan from them which is amazing. They will also automatically upload your bike and serial number to Bike Index; this is something I always meant to do but forgot. My new favorite bike and bike shop."
