"This used to be a cheap place totally worthy for the price until they changed the management company. I stayed for 2 years and when Nicole left, everything changed for bad. The new management company not only increased the rent crazy, but also, they are the worst management company I ever dealt with. They never reply to your emails and in the very rare case they do, their tone is very rude, especially when you have to deal with Nathan. They don’t care about your concerns. And when you leave, good luck to recover your deposit. They charged me an incredible amount for cleaning fees and repairs that I don’t agree with. They even charged me for stuff that were broken when I arrived. On the top of that they never provided a disclose item list and moreover they never sent me back the check with the rest of my deposit, even thought I emailed them multiple times. They just never answered any of my emails. Talking about the apartments, the washing machines in the laundry room were always broken. Internet was slow. If you have a car, good luck trying to understand their e-mails. When they arrived, they relocated all the garage places, when there were no issues before. Nobody was happy with the rearrangement. They decided to paint the garage in winter when winter parking emergencies makes even more complicated to park outside. Every email lack detail and it's like solving a riddle trying to figure out what they actually mean. They entered my apartment multiple times without notifying me. And the new package room was a totally waste of money. It seems all the improvements they made, were either useless or made your life harder. In conclusion, try to avoid this place and this company. Randall Rental has been my worse renting experience by far."
"This place charge you additional fees without any notification. I have my first house insurance sent to them. And they do not respond anything including they do not tell me it is not qualified. And three months later, they started to charge me additional insurance fee. After I called them to ask about this fee, they tell me it is because my first proof of house insurance is not qualified. And because I have deposited my rent for half year, I do not know until the second month. And it is only 11th, they cannot remove the fee that’ll charge for 15th. And I have been charge two months insurance fee for no reasons. And the internet fee at the contract, it said 40 for one month, but it charged $60 for month it is too expensive for an apartment internet fee!"
"The building is too old and it usually needs multiple repairs and they charge you for that even though you haven’t done anything to harm them. The management also gives you a check-in list when you move-in to report the current damage but when you want to move- out they don’t even look at it and charge you for the previous damage as well. They over charge me for nothing and kept 260$ of my deposit. I asked them several times to look at the check-in list but they refused to do so. They are not honest and fair. I will never go back there and I don’t recommend it to anyone."
"I recently wrapped up my stint at Allen House Apartments in Madison, WI, and I must say, it's been a less than stellar experience. Let's dive into the laundry list of grievances I've accumulated during my time there. I have stayed there for past 2 years in 2 different units. The most glaring issue is the abysmal management. They are astonishingly unresponsive to tenant requests. I've sent countless emails and made numerous calls regarding maintenance issues, and it's like shouting into the void. They simply don't care about the concerns of their residents, and it's infuriating. The old management was really unresponsive and rude, and the new one is nothing better than that. The cherry on top of this management nightmare is their penchant for charging exorbitant amounts from the security deposit. They nickel and dime you for every little thing, even stuff that was damaged when I moved in. It feels like they're trying to cover their own costs at the expense of the tenants. It's worse than the previous management. On moving out of my previous unit, I wasn't charged a single penny during from my security deposit. Leaving the new unit in the same clean condition and absolutely undamaged, I received only about half of my deposit back. Talking to the management about it was an absolute waste of time as there's no way to talk it through with them. I would consider myself lucky to have received at least half of the deposit, otherwise another tenant I talked with with similar case did not even receive that much back. Speaking of expenses, the rent they charge is not commensurate with what you get. It's simply overpriced for the subpar living conditions and the terrible management you have to deal with. Let's not forget the internet situation. It's laughably bad. Slow speeds, frequent outages, and constant frustration trying to get anything done online. In this day and age, having such terrible internet is unacceptable. And the recent change in the heating system is the icing on the cake. The new system they've implemented is a complete disaster. It's non-manageable, leaving winters in Madison a nightmare. You'll be left either freezing in your own apartment or sweating deadly while trying to adjust the nobs which don't work anyway because as the management tells, it gets blocked with air in the pipe. And good luck trying to get any help from the management to address this issue. In conclusion, my time at Allen House Apartments has been marred by a host of problems, from a terrible management team that's unresponsive to tenant needs, to excessive charges from the security deposit, woefully inadequate internet, and a heating system that makes winters unbearable. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere for a more reasonable and habitable living situation in Madison."
"Everything is nice except the new management agency. There is inefficient, inconsistent and poor communication with less than 24 hr notice come from the managers. My car got towed from my monthly-paid parking lot and I paid $325 for the towing fee because I didn’t read my email a day before. Not even a proper apology."
