"I lived here for two years. Overall, I had a very pleasant experience. The apartment was just what I needed at the time. Maintenance requests were addressed promptly. Management was receptive and easy to work with. They were able to accommodate me when I decided to adopt cats and coordinate a move from the pet free building I initially lived in to a pet-friendly building. Overall, if I ever moved back to Madison, I would definitely go back to Lake Pointe."
"I lived here for 2 years and was non- stop tormented by management and my downstairs neighbor for the “noise” my toddler made. Management knew I had a 2 year old when I applied and for whatever reason put me above a single old lady who had nothing better to do than harass me. When my son would even WALK she would bang on her ceiling/ my floor and write nasty notes accusing me of “not parenting my child.” In turn, I explained to her (and management) that in reality, I did not simply allow my TWO year old to run everywhere, but I have a specials needs child who was in ongoing physical therapy and was having difficulty learning to walk and would often stumble. Still, she would write terrible notes accusing my 30lb toddler of “shaking the things on her wall” and keeping her up at night……. even though he went to bed at 7pm every night? Even after I barely escaped a domestic abuse situation and explained to both management and my downstairs neighbor that I feared for my life, I couldn’t catch a break. My downstairs neighbor became so aggressive with her threats that she would stand outside my door screaming (can you believe she’s the director of DAIS?) Flustered and having no idea what she expected me to do (other than duck tape my child to a chair apparently) I explained the situation to management that I did not even safe in my own home because of this woman. What did they do? Imply that unless the noise complains about me and my son stopped, they were refusing to renew my lease. Never missed a payment. Never threw a party. Never even slammed a door. But apparently because I have a special needs child that was good enough reason for them to kick us to the curb. Basically, if you have children do NOT waste a minute looking at this place. They’re AWFUL. I even befriended another mother within that complex and she said the exact. Same. Things. I was mortified to hear of it. These people have absolutely ZERO compassion and will defend the wrong person while villainizing the true victim."
"I had lived there for 5 years. Not one late payment or missed payment. When it came this time last year to renew I notified the 4th apartment manager in my time there(that says something in itself) that I would be in the process of buying a house. So when it came time for a lease resigning the manager suggested A month to month lease. Fine print on the lease says 60 days notice. I gave them 51 days when I found out about the closing on our house. They came after me for another months rent and I suggested we split it. They ignored that and after lawyers and such that is exactly what happened. Many other tenants prior had given much less without penalty. So 2-3 weeks after I left that apartment manager was fired from what I found out from him a few months later that it was certain shall we say videos on the internet while at work. They even had the audacity to say they tried to minimize my obligations by attempting to rent the apartment for 15 days. Reality is that he must have been too busy watching "videos" during this time to do that if he was terminated shortly thereafter. With that said I have watched the company cut corners when flood damage happened in my building. A resident who was happening to be helping the apartment manager at this time while he was on vacation had to deal with it and in the end made the repair right only because she knew it was the right thing to do. They work for repairs is almost non existent. They would not even replace a completely rusted out trash door and refuse to fix a drain in the parking garage which had been clogged since before my time and still clogged when I left. When I switched apartments the place wasn't even fully put together and still had to pay rent on it. 2 months after I was in that apartment is when the work was done and it was horrible to say the least. Gallina is just about getting their money, which it is a business I understand. However the fact that this is such a huge company you think they would keep their properties in Tip Top shape and want to keep things right by their tenants. This is not the case. They refuse to even work with you . Save yourself the headache and look across the street. If anyone finds this helpful I feel I have done my part and they will only suffer in the end."
