Reviews of Northshore Rentals LLC
"Northshore Rentals is a wonderful place to live and the example of a management company I've always wanted to have. I initially came to PACKTENN on a whim with the intentions of it only being my temporary home so I never fully settled in however, I did ended up fulfilling my full term contract. Had it not been for my need to be closer to family, I would have wanted Northshore Rentals to be my leasing company forever. All the staff were extremely professional, attentive, responsive, helpful and thorough. The apartment building and landscape were well cleaned and maintained by housekeepers and landscapers. The unit itself had quality materials, appliances, lighting fixtures and aesthetics. All tenants I interacted with were so friendly. Occasionally, it was expected to hear sound in the halls as I walked by but once I was in my unit, I couldn’t hear any neighbors. My apartment was facing Packers Ave which could be loud at times from speeding drivers but that was not in the control of the leasing company. Just pointing it out that if noise is an issue for you then maybe facing Packers Ave will not be the best fit. The location is very accessible to downtown, Sun Prairie and the Westside. If you’re looking for a Northside apartment, I highly recommend renting with Northshore Rentals."
"On January 15th, 2023 I called Maintenance and asked if they could go into my apartment to double check if I had possibly left my curling iron on. I had been out of town and was too late to turn back around. I had $300 worth in cash sitting on my kitchen bar stool. I was informed my curling iron was not on and that I would be charged $55 for the inconvenience fee which I was aware of. I came back home to see that my $300 in cash was missing. I called maintenance and asked if he knew where the money had gone. He responded that I must’ve left my door unlocked before he came in and someone else took it and that he did not take it. His story did not add up. I said I would check my cameras (at the time I did not have any cameras inside of my apartment though if he took it he’d return it to avoid any reports made against him). The next following day the office was open, I informed them of the situation and they had let me know that someone had returned $245 in cash. As I mentioned earlier the fee to be charged to have maintenance is $55, which had seemed to be already taken out of my money. They then charged me two times ($55) for the inconvenience fee on the online portal. I decided not to make any police reports since the money had been returned and believe there would no longer be any issues moving forward. I indeed decided to then get a camera put into my apartment. A month later my heater stopped working, I let the office know and it took them 2 months to fix my heater. During the winter. I then proceeded to get noise complaints from my apartment saying that I had been making loud noising as if I was partying until 2am. I have two jobs, one is day shift and the other is 3rd shift. From my 3rd shift job I do not get home until approximately 4am. I do have footage of me coming home at this time. The only time I did make loud noises was in the beginning of my lease for my birthday in August of 2022. I take full responsibility for that, after that I made sure to be more mindful & to not let it happen again. I decided best thing I would do for both myself and the office was to end my lease early because I no longer felt welcomed. My lease ended in July. I decided to leave in April. I thought leaving my tenancy there would be the end of these issues though I have been proved wrong. On May 12, 2023 i applied for a new apartment and had this location as my previous rental history. they had gave me the worst housing reference to the property manager and sabotaged my chances of getting approved. thankfully i had four other rental references that would vouch otherwise. Not only that the property manager was willing to hear my side of the story and got the ‘okay’ to approve my application for the new apartment. Overall, the office for North Shore seems to be extremely shady & mendacious. And has a lot of animosity towards me which is unprofessional & staggering. If you plan to rent here, alter that decision."
"DO NOT RENT HERE! Management was very disrespectful towards me mind you i’m a POC and my friend who also lives here is caucasian and we treated differently under the same circumstances. Management constantly filed complaints about noise on dates i were not home. During the summer I found multiple roaches inside the elevator ceilings and by the mailbox area, amazon will constantly put your packages on the outside door instead of inside the apartment building and constantly got stolen. Maintenance made multiple advances towards me to the point where i felt the need to file a police report, i couldn’t finish a one year lease here. I’d rather live in northport and darbo, damn near will pay rent at salvation army instead."
"Don't waste your time or $20 applying for Northshore if you have any hiccups within your last few years of housing history! First, let me say throughout most of the process, the staff were pleasant and quite responsive. Good grades for that. However, I'm an honest person and like to provide a lot of context to bring awareness to grey areas. I can admit to making poor choices in my past, but landlords should not be using so called, poor housing history beyond 2.5 years old against prospective tenants. NORTHSHORE RENTALS WILL DENY GOOD HARD WORKING PEOPLE solely based on bad references from questionable landlords. This is quite disappointing, because some of the info reported to Northshore about my previous residency was literally inaccurate. So, I find it silly how seriously they took this "reference". I didn't expect them to be quite SO unforgiving, as this negative reference was from 3 YEARS AGO... Perhaps in their eyes, that's not enough time for people to grow and learn to make better life choices. I don't know. At the end of the day, they can deny/accept who they want, but hopefully this review will shed some light on the foolery, and overall counter-productiveness of their system. To be completely transparent, my previous landlord is certainly justified in giving me a bad reference (even though the complex was a total nightmare to live). I can accept that some mistakes were made and some rules were broken on my part in those days. Nothing malicious, and certainly nothing worth denying me housing 3 years after the fact! How long should this be held against me? Forever? I was totally forthcoming with this information from the START of my application process with NORTHSHORE. Yet, went through a WEEK LONG process (mostly because it took FOREVER to get a reference from the previous landlord) only for them to deny me for "poor housing history". Why not spare me the time if you were just going to deny me for that reason anyway? LANDLORDS ARE NOT ALWAYS ACCURATE IN THE INFO THEY REPORT! Crazy thing is, I have a friend who lives at Granite Ridge (managed by Northshore), and I'm pretty sure I've smelled Marijuana in the hallways a couple times before. Mind you, my mother and I have owned a family home for several years with excellent payment history, (now I'm just looking to get my own space again). I have no other negative housing history at all. No criminal record, nothing. Not once did Northshore consider these things, even though my POSITIVE home ownership info is more recent than the references they denied me for. Like please, give a sista a break."
