"Firstly I would like to say that this has absolutely nothing to do with Jill or Tawni who have been nothing but kind, accommodating and helpful. With that being said, there are some concerns with the Echelon properties that should be known. Maintenance is extremely unprofessional with how they interact with and handle tenant maintenance requests. The most recent example is related to the water damage on the ceiling of our unit. Not only did maintenance attempt to do a “patch” job but simply covering water marks but became defensive when my fiancé informed them that we would prefer the water damage to be completely taken care of, so we do not have the nightmare of a situation that happened to one of our neighbors, where their unit completely flooded with water. Other requests, such as concerns with the refrigerator not working properly, were also met with Band-Aid fixes. Instead of providing a new or equal quality refrigerator, maintenance dragged a fridge (leaving marks on the floor) from another unit. This “new” fridge has a loose handle, doesn’t close properly, and is broken on the bottom panel. We were told there is nothing else they can do about it. It has been extremely frustrating, especially since rent was raised to 2500 recently, with no improved amenities (pool chairs are noticeably old and worn, the advertised pool TV never works and the remote is MIA, gym area TVs rarely work and have old equipment, grill area is never cleaned- I took the time to scrub the grill area at the pool myself but it is still noticeably dirty for the price we pay for rent). Mandel Group is a largely successful business that can afford to make quality repairs and should want to do that to maintain their properties, as well as provide truly “luxury” amenities as they advertise. In addition, midway through our first year, we were told we had to purchase a storage unit for any items that may be stored in the garage area (ex- behind the car), which we pay 135$ just to park in. The storage unit was an additional fee and we were told that the policy is that you have to keep the storage unit for the duration of your lease. It felt like a huge money grab. We also receive the occasional community email reminding us the amenities, such as the pool, are a “privilege” that could be taken from us, which is insane considering the amount paid in rent. Overall, the people that live at Echelon are fantastic, and the two ladies in the office, Jill and Tawni, are nothing but kind, accommodating, and respectful, however for the insane price you will pay, you are truly better off at other “luxury” properties such as the Mayfair Reserve or even Serafino Square."

"Great place to live. Tucked away near a forest preserve and nature trails. Amenities are great and apartments have modern finishes. Quiet and peaceful. But people make a community, and community makes for a great place to live. Echelon has both. It's a very active and social place to call home. Staff is very courteous, responsive and professional. Jill and Tawny are very well liked and very much valued by the tenants. They too add to the community here and help to make Echelon a special place."

"I have lived here for 5 years and it has been a great experience. The facilities are fantastic and the maintenance team is amazing."

"To be fair, I don't live here, but we've had monarch festivities here. It's BEAUTIFUL and has the monarch trail as its yard, including a sycamore tree where they roost on their migration south. The residents are very friendly and have the most adorable dogs. It's in a lovely location."

"I consider myself fortunate to have found this place. It is a safe, welcoming, spacious, modern, clean, and friendly environment, close to bike routes and wonderful nature trails. I don't recall having experienced any negative issues during my stay. The management/administration team are very friendly, responsive, and courteous. All requests and inquiries were always addressed promptly. Also, Jill, in particular, was very helpful and kind during my stay!"
