"They lied to us about multiple things upon signing our lease such as the layout and price! Management has zero accountability and is completely dishonest. My bike was stolen from the “locked secured” garage TWICE. They jacked up our rent $150/month before our first lease was up and only gave us one month notice. The carpeting is disgusting, the gym is always dirty, they don’t clean the windows ever, there is often garbage around the complex, packages go missing from the mail room, there are no overhead lights or ceiling fans in the bedrooms, and several wall switches don’t do anything at all. They’ll tell you you get pool access but you don’t. IF, you can get one of the limited key fobs, and you bring it back even 1 minute late, they will charge you $50. Just don’t pay that though, they can’t evict you for a nonsense fee or a late charge. They won't tell you this but you will be paying over $25/month for Common Area utilities and electric. Seems strange that such a small portion of a building would cost $3,000-4,000/month... The elevators are commonly down, and sometimes have dog waste in them (see pics), also the doors to the lobby don’t open from time to time. I once encountered a child stuck in the lobby who was obviously scared. The walls in the units are crooked and corners are not square, the drywall cracks and the seams show through the paint (meaning the building was built without any care), and the windows are VERY drafty in the winter. This happens when the windows are installed incorrectly, and/or very cheap. They also don’t keep up with waste disposal frequently enough, so in the summer, the stench rises up and enters the halls from the garbage chute room. Lovely thing to come home to, and certainly not appreciated when paying over $2000 for rent. Management is an absolute joke, and trying to reach someone who’s higher up in the Mandel group is impossible. Will never ever rent anywhere owned by the Mandel Group, and highly recommend not living here. I could go on for hours, but hopefully this will help someone avoid a ton of stress, disappointment, and anger. I’m spending the remainder of my lease putting up signs and making sure I can do anything I can to prevent people from living here. Also, the response to this review below is dishonest. They have never addressed any of these concerns, and the phone number is for one of the low level managers who just plays dumb and refuses to negotiate or make anything right. *1/5/24 Maintenance entered on their own with no warning today, and over Christmas Eve and day, the garage door was wide open and would not close. *1/29 We noticed we've been getting charged an $8 insurance non compliance fee every month. We've had renter's insurance since before we moved here, so I questioned it and they tried to get me to do her job and blame the charge on a third party (on going theme with Mandel), and said we’d have to talk to Assurant (their insurance) to discuss any charges. Just absolute garbage business tactics and the epitome of nickel and dime. Wee we also noticed that we are all getting charged for the utilities in the entire building. Hallways, common areas, elevators, are all paid for by the tenants now. Another sneaky addendum added to the lease after we moved in."
"My boyfriend and I absolutely LOVE this place! It is our first apartment together and Hazel has been amazing to work with. She has been so patient with us while we ask her the nitty-gritty questions. Communication has been SO good regarding our move-in and lease details. The place is so well-kept, both inside and outside. With only living about a month here, we’ve had so many compliments from our friends and family about the place. Hazel and the rest of the team at The West Living have been so helpful and amazing!!"
"I love living at the west!! I’ve only lived here for a short time but it is a very nice apartment complex and in a great location! Everyone who lives here is so nice and so is the staff. I have never had an issue with anything here and they are also very quick to fix anything that is broken! I would recommend living here to anyone!!"
"I love living at The West Living. The spaces and rooms are very clean and the staff is always nice. The workout areas are always very clean and have many different options of use. I really like that there are trash shoots on each floor. The rooms are very modern and spacious. I really like living here!!"
"I just had the pleasure of getting a tour of this beautiful apartment building from Riley, the property manager. She showed me the beautiful and spacious 2 bedroom offerings they had, and I must say the pictures don't do it justice. These units must be seen in person. With this place still being under construction and the fact I was blown away by what we were able to see, the fact that most of the amenity spaces were closed only has me more excited to go back once they are done. This is a must see building if your looking for a premium and modern new home that won't break the bank"
