"San Francisco Federal Credit Union is a jewel even when compared to other credit unions, let alone any bank you care to name. We normally used the Geary Blvd. branch, but everyone is knowledgeable and helpful. They are there for the betterment of their members and that is a fundamental difference between a credit union and a bank, where you are just the amount of money you have in that account. We moved to the East Coast and remained with SFFCU because it was difficult to find a better institution. Finally we did, but it took a lot of time."

"SF Federal Credit Union is by far the worst banking experience I’ve ever had. They will lock your account for no reason and provide no explanation. When you try to unlock it, the customer service team just passes you off to the next person without any resolution or a care in the world. You will be given the runaround, and they will make things difficult for you. I had to drive to a branch and meet someone in person to unlock my account, which was very inconvenient. There is no transparency, no sense of urgency, and no professionalism. The customer experience is so poor that I decided to close my accounts after only two months of membership."

"My loan officer Kamila and their membership officer were very helpful and responsive, that I got membership and loan approved within 24 hours from my first communication. All processes and loans were completed before my vacation and SFFCU offered a fantastic loan rate."

"I tried to open an account with them. After being approved by SF Credit Union, they had difficulties receiving payment from my other bank to fund the account. I immediately ensured that the payment coming from my bank was authorized. SF Credit Union demanded that I drive 45min away from my house to be there in person to attempt another method to submit a payment. I instead demanded to resolve this issue virtually, to which they simply canceled my application. Not once did anyone attempt to provide customer support to resolve this issue. They offer very little incentive to bank with them and don't make it convenient for you to bank with them."
