Reviews
"Some of the friendliest people around. They were able to fix an issue with my bike that other shops had missed and were an absolute pleasure to work with. They were even abundantly patient with me when it took me an embarrassingly long time to come pick up my bike. This shop has none of the pretentious attitude that some places can have with non-serious bikers like me. I appreciate them and will do all my future purchases and repairs here!!"
"Updating my original sparkling review of Cycle Sport to reflect some funkiness that went down this past week… I just purchased a $5000 electric Trek road bike from these guys. When I first started looking, I test rode and fell in love with one that they had in the shop, but felt it was on the edge of too big for me. At the time, my size (54) was out of stock everywhere, so I jumped up to the newer, much more expensive version. When it arrived, everything that I loved about that original bike was missing from the newer version, so I returned it and tried to make the slightly larger size work. The day after taking the larger size home, my size was back in stock on Trek’s website. Annoyed, but just wanting to have the correct bike by now, I paid their high restocking fees, handed it back over to them and they ordered the correct size. Jeff, and co-owner Alex were phenomenally helpful and gracious during the process of trying to nail the right bike and fitment for me, but that’s where the positives end. The first couple of days with the new bike were fantastic. On the third day, I swapped the stem with a slightly shorter albeit identical version, torquing everything correctly, and following procedure as I’ve done so many times before. For some reason, the headset felt loose no matter how much I adjusted it, so I brought it in to the shop knowing something was wrong. They had the bike for an hour, and when I came back to get it, the front end was still very loose. I pointed it out and was fully gaslighted by one of the mechanics who basically just said that I was wrong and that it wasn’t loose. It was. Annoyed and just wanting to get out of there, I went over to Handlebar to have them take a look, and sure enough, it was completely loose. They said if I had ridden it like that that I would have damaged the carbon steerer tube and frame on the bike. The next day, I go back in to Cycle Sport for bar tape. As a courtesy, I decided to let one of the owners know that the identical bike that they have on the sales floor has the same loose front end that I felt when I test rode it. I told him that their mechanic was incorrect when he sent me home with the bike still messed up the day before. He became INCREDIBLY defensive, and gaslit me again by saying that I was wrong and that it wasn’t loose. Totally dismissive, hot headed, and arrogant. I won’t be going here anymore and I definitely won’t be trusting them with any repairs on my new bike. Is it annoying that I had to return two bikes before settling on the correct one? Yes. But at the end of the day, I’ve spent so many thousands of dollars at their shop to be rudely dismissed, gaslit, and sent out the door with dangerously loose components. The guys at Handlebar fixed the issue and will be my go to from now on."
"Best of the best! Absolutely the best service, the friendliest staff, and very reasonable pricing. Every time we have needed to have our bikes repaired or serviced, or needed parts and accessories the team at Ashland Cycle Sport has been nothing but awesome. We really love supporting our local bike shop and it feels great to be treated so nicely. Thank you Ashland Cycle Sport for taking such good care of me and my wife!"
"Great service, fast turnaround, extremely high quality work. My bike feels tighter and smoother than it has the whole time I've owned it. Feels like a new ride, and quite affordable. They even gave me a discount just because the bike ended up needing a little extra TLC. Very professional and clean shop. Highly recommend."
