"DO NOT LIVE HERE. This was by far the WORST living experience I have ever had. From water pouring from my ceilings and not answering the emergency line to them jackhammering my bedroom floor and leaving a huge hole with water pouring in my wall with a fan blowing directly on my bed. There was no working oven for months, and I was left without a working washer for months, having to resort to a laundry mat and washing my laundry in the bathtub. Do not expect them to complete the work order within a timely manner or even at all. But do expect to have them make up charges and take your full deposit to cover the maintenance of their neglect. They jokingly called us the "water apartment" because we had so many issues with leaks. The last issue I had was raining water from my bathroom ceiling, resulting in them coming a WEEK later after I put in multiple tickets and called the emergency line multiple times with no answer. So every time my neighbor showered it came through my bathroom ceiling. They opened up two big holes and then LEFT THEM OPEN FOR WEEKS. It took multiple attempts and multiple closed tickets stating they performed maintenance that they never performed to even get them to fix it and when they did they horribly patched the holes, painted the bathroom multiple colors and then just never returned to correct it. This was was October of 2022 and I just moved out August 2023 the following year and they never fixed it but charged us to repaint the entire apartment. They said we would get a credit. Never did. They didn't even have the decency to reply but made me feel like a burden to the point they literally made me cry when asking for help or to just complete the maintenance. I literally had to move my bedroom into the living because we had so many leaks in the bedroom. Stay far away from this nightmare. The office turns over staff quicker than the seasons and will not accept any type of accountability because "it wasn't under their management at the time". I wish I never stepped foot on this property. If you're military stay far away as they will just take advantage of you."
"Sunset View can be a really great living experience depending on your needs as a tenant. I loved the small quiet community with the breeze from the ocean, the dog friendly park, ample parking, and many other small factors in the units themselves, like kitchen windows, gas stoves, central a/c, and individual patios (and some yards). The privacy at the pool and small gym were awesome amenities that I miss immensely. While I was totally in love with the unit I had, my main issue with this property and what lead me to find a new apartment was the management. Now I can only speak to the management at the time of my departure, Silver Star (I’m unsure if they have changed since). That being said, the lack of communication and following up during their management, and even more so the severe unprofessionalism I experienced upon my vacating the unit is the main driver for only giving this place 3 stars. I really loved living here the first year back when Kerry was managing the property under Greystar. The management changed three times in the 2 years I lived there. Please note that I am not the sort of tenant who needs to speak with management very regularly so I think that does say something about my dissatisfaction with that management. If you can look past those things, Sunset View can be a great place to call home."
"I just moved in and I absolutely love it here. The manager is wonderful and the customer service has been great from the start. The apartment was sparkling clean with all new appliances and although there were a few things that needed to be fixed (the fireplace, and the balcony screen) maintenance was quick and the communication is great. I read a review that said the appliances were not great and the floor was cheap, I don’t think they realize that these apartment a are affordable and therefore you might not get the most brand new state of the art materials/ appliances. But I can attest that everything is made by reliable brand names and if you have trouble with anything the manager and maintenance take care of you. The vibe is wonderful. On top of that I the neighbors are friendly and kind. I love that it is a dog friendly complex. The landscaping is very clean and pretty, and so far I’ve had the best experience. I highly recommend it here."
"Lived here for almost a year and we were not very impressed. Our apartment was "updated" but none of the appliances seemed to work great and the new flooring was very cheap and not durable. We had multiple work orders placed that were marked as "complete" but never were completed. The office staff was generally difficult to get in touch with and weren't very responsive or helpful to issues. Location is decent but a fair amount of homeless people wander close to the area. The complex is kept up pretty well but again, maintenance was an ongoing issue the entire time we lived here. Would not recommend."
"So excited my boyfriend and I found this place! I am pretty serious about researching when I pick a new place to live and it took me a few weeks of excel spreadsheets, emails and in-person visits. As soon as I walked on the site and met Kerry I knew it would be the right fit. Here's what really stood out to me and made us decide to go with Sunset View: 1) Some of the apartments have yards. Yup, that's right. Some of the yards are smaller and some are huge, but we now have our own private fenced in yard. 2) They are very dog friendly. They even allow certain breeds that most apartment complexes won't consider. This was very important to us as we have two German Shepard mixes. They even have a giant dog park right in the complex that is very clean, our dogs love it. 3) The staff is amazing. We worked with Kerry and he was nothing but professional and knowledgeable. They also seem to genuinely care about their tenants, he even took time to point out some fishing spots for my boyfriend. This especially goes for the maintenance crew. Upon move in there were a couple of things that needed quick fixes and they were there immediately, making sure our move in experience was great. Every time I have asked for anything it has been completed right away. 4) The community is overall pretty quiet for an apartment complex, which I really enjoyed. It seems like people know each other and like each other. It is beautifully landscaped and has amazing views (as the name suggests). Overall, we're very excited to have this new apartment! We started our search looking to rent a house but at the end of the day, we felt that we'd be getting a better value by choosing this community. I would recommend to anyone and everyone."
