"Too expensive for what it is. (utilities are not included), all together I was paying near $2,500 for a 1 bed/1 bath. Walls are very thin, you can hear everything your upstairs neighbor is doing. Parking situation isn’t great if you live with a spouse and have a second car, you only get one assigned parking. There are better apartments to rent than this place."
"If I could leave 0 stars I would this dump doesn’t even deserve one star. “ management” is nothing but trash they cannot reply to emails and won’t answer phone calls. Don’t let their website fool you they are NEVER here and when they are which is rarely they don’t answer there phone. You would think for 2,000 a month you would get a nice decent apartment NOPE. Power outlets don’t work oven doesn’t work and the paint job is terrible! My 5 year old brother could do a better job than this trash of apartment units! I have been trying to contact them and I haven’t gotten not one response! If anyone is looking for a nice apartment I would not recommend this dump."
"Lived here 2 yrs and it was the worst place to live!! Malena is so unorganized and doesn't know how to communicate with residents. And It's very rare to have somebody actually there on property in the front office. And maintenance is slow with repairs thats if you can get ahold of them. You would think for $2,000 a month you would have a decent apartment and not something that's all run down and appliances that don't work. So if you're looking for a good nice place to live Marina Crest apartment is not it !"
"It’s at best, okay. Being the most expensive rental with the least amenities I’ve ever lived in.. it’s really not worth the price. They don’t have breed restrictions on animals and it’s just a few miles from the ocean which is nice. The area itself is convenient for commuters. Workers are friendly and helpful. The owners however seem to think it’s an HOA and have some pretty silly “rules” & “fines” for breaking them... it’s very corporately ran without having the amenities or conveniences of actually renting from a corporatized property. They have washers and dryers on grounds but they are horrible, they barely work and when asked for reimbursement after they failed to work multiple times they never responded. Parking is TERRIBLE if you have more than one occupant. W/s/g bills are more expensive than usual. The building is very old, the units have been “redmodeled” to look newer but with very cheap materials. Some units have carpet/wood flooring/dishwashers/more closet space etc but all units are rented at the same price point which is odd. Walls are paper thin and you can literally hear full conversations in neighboring units.. not joking unfortunately. The windows are extremely old too causing it to be drafty. The community of neighbors is by far the best thing about the whole place, the people who live there really made it a home for us. If I had to live there again, I wouldn’t. You can find more for your money in Monterey."
"The leasing office is rarely open. They have a backup office at their sister company Shoreline Apartments. This leasing office is also not open during posted business hours and the will be back sign is broken. There is repair work going on for the stairwells that they don't really keep you up to date on. Our stairwell has been under repair for about the last 3 months. They let us know when it would start, but no communication afterwards. We are about to come up on our first year and they want to raise the rent price $100 per month. So it would be 1700 per month for the tiny apartment. Maintenance actually reacts pretty quickly if you put in a request. But they're under funded and it seems to only be one guy so they can't do a lot."
