"They changed the parking policy in Feb 24. This is the most ridiculously insane policy I’ve ever heard. I guess tenants here are allowed to have friends. The office lady literally responded to me “you could purchase a parking for them if you don’t want to do street parking.” Yes, that’s a genius idea! Love it!! Let’s go back to the reality - The property doesn’t have any adjacent street parking. All of the parking spaces outdoor are retail parking which are only allowed for 2 hours till midnight. The visitor parking policy and application are listed here. There are only a few parking spaces for visitors compared to the size of the community. Not to mention it’s maximum 20 days of visitor parking per lease term. Good luck if you have a longer lease term!!! “You signed the contract.” “Or your car will get towed.” It’s a very welcome place on earth. My advice to the property despite no one would actually care: - Reduce the number of retail parking and mark more as visitor parking to the people who consider living here: - Turn your back and run as far as you can"
"Horrible new policies (March 2024). For one, a lot of restrictions on parking and guest parking. Guest parking requires getting a paper pass from the front office. If you have a guest and they need a pass after office is closed, they can only park in retail spots for 2 hours and not after midnight. So if you have a last minute guest, they can’t park? Why not add an online system to add guests? We live in the age of technology, and it would save the extra effort on both residents and staff. They also updating package rules for package lockers. The name on the package has to match exactly. If it does not, the delivery worker will leave it on the package room counter. Residence staff will take the packages, see if the name matches anyone on any lease. If not, they will donate the package. Donate?? Sounds illegal to me. Have a nickname, child, sibling, etc? You’re apparently SOL on getting your package, and it will get donated. Absolutely ridiculous new policies. It does not seem like a home anymore. I will update this if anything gets resolved, so please monticello staff fix your policies!"
"The worst apartment I have ever been in. (1) Frequent fire alarms. If you have a pet, good luck! (2) Maintenance will not even install a shower filter. Apparently, it is against their policy. (3) They are forcing residents to buy extra car parkings inside the gated garage (extra parking is $125 each mind you) even though there are plenty of visitor spots. This is especially unreasonable in the middle of a lease!! The least they could do is implement this from the next lease term onwards or give an extra parking at no cost until the new lease comes available. We were specifically told that it is okay for residents to park in the visitor parkings as well when we were looking at apartments at Monticello, so I don't understand why there is such a big change of policy right now! (4) People easily enter the gated garage since the garage gate has issues a lot of the time. So, what exactly am I paying for? (5) One of the two entrances into the covered garage is always under construction!!!! Honestly, it feels like this place only cares about how much more they can mint off residents. If you are planning to lease an apartment here, please do me a favour and don’t! We are definitely NOT renewing our lease!"
"I have been living at the Monticello apartments for over a year and a half and I absolutely love it. They have great amenities here like an outstanding gym, 2 pools, little play areas for the kids, a dog wash room. They also have on the property a grocery store a few places to eat that are really good. They have everything here, including an amazing maintenance team who get things done quickly and professionally. I truly appreciate the hard work they do. I absolutely love where I live and that is important to me."
"TO EVERY RESIDENT HERE: the drilling sound you hear is effectively the leaf blower noise. I understand some maintenance is needed in the community, but that doesn’t mean you choose a leaf blower everyone in the community will hear. This video is with windows closed and high floor, everyday it’s like this, don’t even consider about working from home. PLEASE IMPROVE THE TOOLS TO REDUCE NOISE"
