"The apartments are great! Spacious and clean. We are renting the Mist floorplan. Most of the drawers and cabinets are soft close. The kitchen comes with an island. The bathtub is full size. But the real selling point are the amenities. The pool has that luxurious feel with some of the pool chairs in the pool. The gym is a good size, and the indoor and outdoor common areas are great! Not to mention the apartment is right in downtown Redwood City, which has great weather to begin with. If you have the budget, this place is definitely worth looking into! Also the maintenance staff is very helpful. I called for someone to look at our tub drain being clogged and Guillermo came, fixed it up right away, and also changed out the lights in our bathroom to a bright white. He was friendly and very helpful."
"There are 2 elevators per tower, and the tower I was in always seemed to have issues so that only 1 of the elevators would be working at a time, making it take forever to get up and down the floors. Yes you've read that screenshot right - you won't be getting most of your $1000 deposit back because they will AUTOMATICALLY take off ~$700 for cleaning and painting at the end of your lease, regardless of how clean and well you've kept and cared for your unit. I lived in this apartment for just 11 months and never hung up anything on the walls. Final inspector said it was a "fair and common practice/pricing everywhere in the bay." Lol"
"Terrible Experience at Indigo Apartment - Avoid at All Costs! I recently had the misfortune of living in the Indigo apartment complex, and I cannot emphasize enough how dissatisfied I am with my experience. This review serves as a warning to anyone considering this place as their new home. Here are the major issues I encountered during my stay: Frequent Elevator Breakdowns: The elevators in this building were a constant source of frustration. It seemed like they were perpetually out of service, leaving residents to navigate multiple flights of stairs on a regular basis. This inconvenience was not only time-consuming but also exhausting, especially for those with mobility issues or heavy belongings. Never-Ending Fire Alarm System: Prepare for sleepless nights at Indigo apartments due to the incessant fire alarm system. The alarms would blare at the most inconvenient times, disturbing residents' sleep and causing unnecessary panic. It's unacceptable for a building to have such faulty equipment that disrupts peace and quiet in the middle of the night. Exorbitant Additional Fees: Indigo apartment management seemed to have no regard for residents' financial well-being. On top of the already high rent, they imposed exorbitant additional fees. As a tenant in a studio apartment, I was forced to pay a staggering $200+ for water and sewage services. Furthermore, the parking fee amounted to $125, making it incredibly expensive to have a vehicle on the premises. Incompetent Management: The management at Indigo apartments displayed a complete lack of professionalism and respect for their tenants. One of the most outrageous policies was the demand to submit a move-out notice 60+ days in advance. Failure to comply resulted in absurd daily fees, leaving little room for flexibility or unexpected life events. Even if you meticulously maintained your apartment, you could forget about receiving your security deposit back. And if you were lucky enough to receive a refund, be prepared to wait endlessly for a check to arrive in the mail. Save yourself the stress and frustration by looking elsewhere for a more reliable and tenant-friendly living arrangement."
"Lived here on a 16 month lease in a studio apartment with an alcove. I paid around $3,000 / month for rent + utilities, and then $125 / month for parking. I really enjoyed the place. Great location so close to downtown. Really nice room. Super quiet, concrete walls, so I never heard my neighbors. Front desk and maintenance staff were all really nice and helpful. Fire alarm went off a couple of times which was annoying. The trash chute would be locked sometimes which was also annoying. Moved out because I wanted to live in a other city. Otherwise would have happily signed another lease."
"Been living here for almost a year. The location is good and the amenities are nice, but my roommate and I have had a terrible experience with building management that has overshadowed all the positives. We woke up one morning to find our apartment floor covered in foul-smelling sewage water that had backwashed from one of the shower drains. To their credit, the cleanup was very prompt, but for a whole week we had people coming in and out, tearing up the floorboards, waking us up at 8am and disturbing our workday. Now I'm being told that there is an unrelated leakage in my shower and I won't be able to use it for an undeterminable amount of time. When we approached building manager Matthew to discuss possible compensation for the inconvenience and damages, we were shocked at how rude he was. He was dismissive of our concerns and pretended to be amazed that we would ask for any compensation. He said it was an "Act of God" and that since the apartment was technically still habitable we would just have to deal with it. My roommate had a lot of his stuff damaged, and although technically the damage is covered by renter's insurance, there is a deductible that has to be paid and his insurance will go up in the future. We also needed some information from management in order to file the claim, but although they said they would send it to us shortly we've gotten nothing from them. If you choose to live here, just know that building management considers something like this to be routine, and that if you ever ask for anything from Matthew he will treat you with contempt and derision. There are better options in Redwood City. Edit: Just wanted to respond to what the owner said below. "We encourage our residents to submit service requests as soon as a drain is clogged to avoid back ups like you experienced" - You are trying to push the responsibility to us and suggest that we were somehow at fault. We have always reported issues promptly and there were no clogging events prior to the flooding. "Our management team did offer a hotel for you" - This was only suggested after about a week of repairs when we complained. At that time the repairs were almost done and management knew that it would be a greater inconvenience to move to a hotel - it was not offered in good faith. I'm not someone who usually complains about things - this is the first review I've ever written. But my interaction with the building manager left a very bad taste in my mouth. It's common industry practice to compensate or give rent reductions for cases like these, and surely Matthew must know that. And yet he feigned surprise in the most obnoxious way and pretended like we were unreasonable and entitled for even asking. This is some borderline unethical negotiating tactic intended to make us accept a lower amount. I don't even care about the money, please just treat your residents with respect."
