"Kathy at Dr. Phan's office is nice. But nice doesn’t save lives. This review is for Dr. Phan himself. My mom was treated here for years, 8 actually. He isn’t as up to date with new treatments. And does not seem very interested in it to be frank. Does not talk prognosis, etc. pretty much said to my mom “glad you’re still with us”. Switched my mom to Dr. Otis in Santa Ana along with a bone marrow transplant at City of Hope. Today my mom is in remission. No thanks to here. If you have Vietnamese parents, encourage them to seek doctors even outside our culture. Competency, sheer human connection, hope, breakthrough research is what we found. But not with Dr. Phan."

"Worst office staff ever!! Been Calling the office for 2 weeks leaving message's to get my blood work and nobody will return my message,"

"DO NOT RECOMMEND. We changed our doctor after a year with Dr. Phan. It turned out that the lab that we used did not produce correct images of the issue. My dad was suspected of having cancer but after going to multiple scans and MRIs, despite the increasing AFP marker, Dr. Phan still committed to saying : you do not have cancer, congratulations. He should have done what our new doctor recommended, which is to change the lab. After we changed to a new doctor, we located my dad's cancer and was able to proceed with surgery. Had he continued to see Dr. Phan, he would have died. We did not appreciate that time that we wasted here."

"This one is a killer. When you visit him, he gives you a list of medications, but never goes over the side effects. Even a simple thing like saying the medicine's side effects are worse than the disease and can hasten death, he NEVER said. He also sends you to do lab work, but doesn't let you see your own results. His office and staff are disorganized and messy. From my mother's lab work, he saw that my mother's blood sugar was already high, but he continued giving her steroids and didn't monitor her blood sugar. When we went to the emergency room, my mom's blood sugar was high to 566. We didn't find a good oncologist, so we want everyone to not repeat our mistakes. Vu Phan is a terrible oncologist; he should not be a doctor."

"Initially, I was put off because I was unsuspecting and scared. My diagnosis was dry, very direct and not very hopeful. The office visits are/were prompt and I have been handed the next scheduled of appointments every time at the check out. The office staff is professional. Unfortunately, one does realize how many people are going through the similar cancer journey. Nobody wants to be at any of these appointments. It's been 9 months since my diagnosis and I'm still here due to the great work being done and my treatments. I feel grateful and hopeful for extended time. God Bless and Thanks."
