"I've stayed in quite a few RV parks across the country but The Oaks at Sacred Rocks takes the gold medal for me! It's so clean, beautiful and quiet. It's also gated, got a pool, but most importantly, it's got great, awesome people working there! Wouldn't think twice of going and staying there again!"
"I'm hesitant to post a review because then this little gem will get busier. On our first foray into trailer life we were on our way to San Diego and called for a last minute reservation around 8pm on Saturday night. Ray answered immediately and said that one of his staff would meet us at the gate. Nina was wonderful and helped us get into the place and showed us a great spot to hookup. We were able to get in and get settled without worrying about checking in. In the morning, we took a walk and saw wild turkeys and jackrabbits running around. We were able to hike around the area and enjoy the beautiful views. The location is very quiet and well maintained. There is a pool available to those who stay there as well as horseshoes and frisbee golf. Ray found us the next morning and made sure all was well. It is an amazing place and a really beautiful setting. Do yourself a favor and stay here, you'll be glad you did."
"The location itself is beautiful however, the grounds in the park are nothing special. If you're a fan of "wildlife" then you would enjoy the views. However the cabins on property are full of mice and rats they can't seem to get rid of, and the heater and occasional shower doesn't work. They raised the price per kilowatt and didn't inform us which jumped our electric bill without notice. In other locations in California, I never paid that much for electric and we had 2 AC units running at the other location. It's a shame this is the closest RV to our job location."
"Tent camping was a new experience for my wife and I so we really did not know what to expect. After on a rainy Sunday with little heart for roughing it so when Dan suggested the tent cabin we were all in agreement - that would be good. The next day, camp manager Ray comped us the use of the cabin and we found a nice spot under some large shady oak trees where we spent the balance of our visit. We thought we would have to put up with less than ideal living conditions with the bathrooms and shower facilities. The bathhouses were these small block buildings that I imagined would look like the bathrooms in a truck stop fueling station and held my breath upon entering. To my surprise, small they were but just as clean and bright as anything you could find in your own home. Dan was a good source of information regarding the campground and area. He filled us in on the local wildlife that inhabited the park... which added an element of adventure - "you can find coyotes, rattlesnakes and mountain lions here..." so now I know why they sell snake bite kits in the very well stocked camp store. The adventuresome part of me was hoping we might see something but other than the celebratory frenzied howling of the coyotes - when they captured their diner for the night, we did not witness too much wild life - well, OK, a few of the afternoons we spent at the Golden Acorn Casino about a ten minute drive away so we may have missed some of the wildlife activity. We didn't take advantage of the many hiking trails, so another reason we may have missed the wildlife. We did spend a lot of time in the cool and comfortable clubhouse which is available for all guests. The clubhouse has a full functioning kitchen and TV for viewing. We used it mostly to access the WI-FI to keep up with our on line activity. Between the very helpful staff and other guests, we met a lot great and friendly people. It was quiet and relaxing and exceeded all of our expectations of what tent camping would be all about...really a great place to hang out and only about an hours drive east of San Diego on I-8. Also of interest, there is a history about this specific location, I believe Dan mentioned that some time back in time this location was an Indian village. With observable spiritual artifacts... the mood and atmosphere surely supported this sense of something more here. In any case, I am not sure of what one would be looking for but in my opinion, you will not be disappointed when you go there."
"This place is awesome! Its peaceful, quiet, and clean with plenty of space for a picnic table and campfire in each site. I couldn't find another campsite in the area where the RV's weren't practically on top of each other. They have a little store at the office for basic necessities, a dog park, a club house, lots of trails, pool, Jacuzzi, and a really cool labyrinth where I personally spent a lot of time thinking. The staff is also incredibly friendly and helpful. This was my first trip with an RV and the manager, Ray, showed me how to hook everything up, and then he invited my to a Christmas dinner that he personally cooked up. We were also considering moving to California permanently, and Jeremiah spent a lot of time answering the many questions that we had. I am EXTREMELY grateful for everything they did to make us comfortable, and If I do decide to move to California, I shall definitely camp here again."
