"Kaiser, OC global etc never gave me the love and care this small hospital did. Dr. Doan, nurse Ching, Nurse Wanda, and ER nurse T. Nguyen have been nothing but amazing to me and made my stay lovely. Thank you for helping me heal. ♥️"
"Pretty bad. I had surgery about two weeks ago and the biggest gripe I have is the discharge instructions said to follow up with my primary care doctor in a few days. I did that, and primary said "You do not belong here, you're supposed to follow up with your surgeon". I was also supposed to have an MRI on an unrelated matter, I told them the same story and they said "We are not putting you anywhere near an MRI until you see your surgeon". The discharge papers were so bad, they didn't even tell me the name of the surgeon. I had to talk to three people before finally being transferred to records. When I finally got ahold of my surgeon's office, somewhere in fountain valley, the woman was confused until I told her that they sent me to primary instead of following up with the surgeon and she nearly blew a gasket because she hears it once in a while, sometimes it doesn't end well for the patient but it is so incredibly inaccurate and borderline dangerous. So learn from my mistake: If you have surgery, do not listen to them when they tell you to go to primary in three days. In fact, just throw the discharge papers away and call your surgeon as you get out of that prison, make an appointment asap. The other things: Day shift was a bunch of Karens, I only met the physician for less than a minute during the two and a half days I was there. Dr Farouki, I think. I could have left the same day as surgery, but wasn't given discharge instructions until the next morning. No idea why. They refused to send me off with any pain medication, even though reputable schools and hospitals online recommend norco/vicodin for a few days after a laproscopic gallbladder removal. They were gatekeeping my prescriptions, including clonazepam, which could have been dangerous, being that I take it three times a day. Said they would give IV lorazepam but never did. I threatened to unhook my IV, go home, take my meds and come back. Karen said fine do what you want, then somebody else came in and talked me into staying for a little bit longer. My roommate pissed and sharted himself constantly and had to be cleaned by a rotation of nurses. He was sent home after a day or so and it was peaceful for a while. Then they wheeled another guy in with the same condition, but he also liked to bite people. Yeah, like a vampire. My room smelled awful, the only thing missing was a big neon sign saying "Bowel Issue Ward" and circulated a memo saying "Chris is here to have his gallbladder removed. Stick him in the nastiest, most vile place with the biggest lowlife you can think of, because f**k him". Two stars because NIGHT SHIFT. Extremely nice people, the two or three nurses brought morphine, chocolate pudding, ice water, food, more food, we even chatted for a bit about random things. Night shift was the only redeeming quality of my stay. And day shift Karen, as vapid and dry as she was, was generous about the morphine and charged my cellphone so I'd have something to do besides stare at the wall and watch a tv that had maybe three functional channels. They also had wifi, which worked with a vpn without any need to bypass their firewall."
"This is long overdue, but I had a great experience here at the end of June. I had an outpatient procedure and nurse Joyce took great care of me. I have extreme hospital anxiety and she really helped calm me down. She is an angel!"
"Dear Hospital Executives, I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service I received during my emergency room visit to Foothill Regional Medical Center on April 24, 2023. My name is David Lloyd, and on that day, I arrived at the hospital in excruciating pain. However, despite my condition, the emergency room check-in staff made me fill out paperwork about myself, which was entirely unnecessary and caused me additional discomfort. Once I was admitted, I was placed in a storage room and largely ignored by the staff, except for a nurse who did what she could to help. Unfortunately, the assigned doctor refused to assist me with the extreme amount of pain that I was experiencing, seemingly assuming that I was a drug addict going through withdrawals. I spent four hours in the emergency room, from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM, during which time I was in severe agony. Despite my pleas for relief, the doctor would not provide me with any effective pain medication and instead chose to experiment with various non-pain related drugs. I was eventually given a weak medication that did not help, and the doctor refused to tell me what it was. I am confident that if any of you were to have experienced the same situation, you would be equally outraged. The pain I was experiencing was beyond anything I can describe, and I left the hospital at 6:30 PM without receiving any real treatment. I had to suffer for an additional 12 hours before seeking medical attention elsewhere. It is unacceptable that a hospital should ignore the cries for help from their patients, and I demand that you take action to ensure that this does not happen again. I request that you discontinue the use of storage rooms for ER patients, as it is not a suitable environment for treatment. Furthermore, I demand that you instruct your staff that ignoring calls from patients in the ER is a fireable offense. I must emphasize that I am not a drug addict, nor was I experiencing drug withdrawals. The doctor's assumption was based on his own biases and not on any facts. Additionally, I demand that the charges for my Monday visit be waived completely. I received substandard care and refuse to pay for it. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope that you take immediate action to address the issues raised in this email. Sincerely, David Lloyd"
