"Borrego Palm Canyon is super chill, with a good vibe. I camped with my family of 4, including our two girls, ages 7 and 9, in late February 2024. We had site 75. The facilities are super clean. The campground was quiet by 9pm. This time of year nights are in the mid 50s. Perfect sleeping weather. Calm winds. Highly recommended and well camp again for sure! Check out the visitors center and do the Junior Ranger program with your kids. So fun!"
"Such a beautiful and serene place to camp. Avoid the "full hookup" sites for spacious and peaceful campsites, many of which are "pull through" friendly. Very clean facilities and friendly and helpful rangers working at the gate. Direct proximity to the wonderful palm canyon trail makes this campground a true gem. Highly recommend."
"Awesome place to camp at the foot of the mountain, nice clean and easily accessible bathrooms and showers. The staff at the entry was very nice and helpful, they took time with me to show me some cool places to visit nearby during my stay. The campsite was excellent with a large picnic table and pergola, as well as a bbq grill and fire pit with grill too. The town center is a 5 min drive away in case you forget any supplies or need ice/gas/air. Showers are $1 for 2 mins and they machine for the shower tokens takes $1, $5, and $10 bills but doesn’t give back change so make sure you bring small bills. Wood bundles were $8 or so for the fire pits during daytime hours at the entry next to the shower token machine. The campsites were also nicely spread out for privacy but sound travels pretty well in the quiet desert so be mindful of neighbors when playing music at night."
"Park is beautiful. Bureaucratic rangers running it are completely lacking logic and ability to manage and run the place. They did not let people in early only to have everyone (over 20 cars) pile up right at two at which point they couldn't handle the flow, and things just stopped moving. After 15 minutes they pushed some cars forward to the office to try and create a second line for checking in but still wouldn't process you unless you were the first car in line resulting in us just sitting there for over 30 minutes to check in. All could have been avoided by letting us check in when people arrived.. as someone who has visited over 4 dozen state parks in California that was the poorest execution ever witnessed for checking in folks to the park. Pathetic. Don't come on time if you want a typical check in experience."
