"This is one of the great Californian hotels. Fabulous views of the sea from all rooms, extremely high-end amenities, stunning food, and a cultural history second to none of this type. But set your expectations: this is not an entertainment-obsessed venue. Peace is prized above all. That said, it is also family-friendly, our kids (1 and 6) had an amazing time walking the trails, exploring the hotel, and eating great food. All staff, in all roles, were extremely friendly and helpful. For me, this is a very special place, inextricably linked to the cultural and environmental history of Northern California. If all of the above appeals to you, then I'm sure you'll have a five-star experience."

"Didn't stay overnight. I just went for dinner. Cozy bar with a special "bar menu" love the hamburger and fries. Appetizers and dinner selections are always good in the main dining room, best to get reservations."

"I ended up having a great time at Sea Ranch! It seems like they took feedback from other guests’ reviews into consideration. The restaurant, front desk, and other staff was friendly and helpful. The room was nice and beautiful with a thoughtful binder included about the property and activities. I loved the pour over kit it was such a nice touch! The food was absolutely amazing and worth the price tag. I got room service, so I can’t comment on how the restaurant experience would have been, but I got my order in a timely manner, the food was hot, and the wait staff was friendly. The property is very beautiful and was fun to take their walking trails. I will be back!"

"The newly renovated Sea Ranch Lodge is beautiful. The rooms are generously sized, clean, modern and well-appointed. The view is, of course, the real reason to be there and doesn't disappoint. Not up to par, however, is the service. We were told not to arrive before 4:00 but when we did, our room still was not ready. Our cameras couldn't make the QR codes necessary for room service work so had to trudge over to the restaurant to order. A phone in the room would have been very helpful. We had a dinner reservation in the restaurant and decided to go early and sit in the solarium with a glass of wine to watch the sunset. We were scolded and chased out by an employee who said all the tables were reserved. Sat in the overcrowded and way underserved bar until our reservation came up. Of course we were seated in the solarium which we shared with one other couple. The rest of the tables were empty. The minimal wait staff looked run off their feet. Of all of the staff we encountered, only our wait person, Cynthia, had any customer service sense at all and she was great! The facility needs to staff up and train for good customer experience. That said, we would probably go back for the view alone."
