"Unless you really care about staying somewhere with history and want to stay somewhere with a very bare minimal, rustic, old school feel, this place is probably not it. Was more expensive than the others, and didn't have an in room fridge, or TV. You can ask the staff to put some things in their fridge if need be. Overall it was good enough to get out of the rain for the rest of the day."

"Loved our stay at the Julian hotel! If you are looking for a historic, clean, and charming place to stay, this is it. Plan to have the complimentary breakfast, it is the highlight of our stay. My wife and I have visited for two anniversary's in a row, and if we can get a babysitter, maybe a third. We look forward to the hotel more than Mom's apple pie."

"This was a marvelous experience. It was our first time in Julian and the hotel was one of the best experiences. You feel like you are entering in a different era. It allows you to rest and enjoy your partner's company without the noise of the modern world. Also, honestly the best sleep that I have had in months. The town becomes quite after 6pm, so the environment is really nice to rest. The rooms are small but cozy. Don't expect a TV or other tech outside the wifi. Simplicity at its best is what you will find. I will definitely come back when I have the opportunity."

"My girlfriend and I Just spent 2 days and one night at this adorably cozy bed & breakfast. It was my first time visiting Julian, and I wish I was still there! The staff were friendly and very accommodating! When you enter, there are a couple of very lovely sitting rooms with books and games as well as menus to all cafes and restaurants located there. Rooms were on the smaller side, but I honestly feel that's a big part of the charm it provides! The parlor room was very spacious with a large assortment of games and refreshments were provided during the evening social hours which was nice. One of the best things about the hotel is that they uphold the privacy of each guest and unless you're staying there, you cannot just simply walk in without speaking with one of the attending managers which may seem inconvenient being that the establishment is a historical site amongst many other building in town, but the attention to detail is positive. Overall, we had such a wonderful time though brief, but we will be staying there again on our next visit which was planned to make it a yearly trip. Thank you, to the staff of the Gold Rush!"

"Stayed the weekend of the Xmas tree lighting, it was our 10 year anniversary. Loved it so much! The staff was so friendly and nice. The breakfast in the morning was very good. The hotel was absolutely beautiful. We plan on getting a honeymoon suite in the near future. If your going to stay in Julian and need a hotel, this is the hotel book at."
