Del Mar Beach & Marina 12th Street, Oceanside, CA 92058

"I want to give a good review. The location is nice being next to the beach and you are close to everything in Oceanside/San Diego. But sadly, that is it that I can say is good.. We were in a Marina View cottage that was clearly outdated. Curtains were stained, tile floors were dirty (socks were black after 5 minutes of walking without shoes on), chair had a large tear on the top cushion (Make sure you report all damage in the cottage in person to ensure they write it down. Male manager will charge you for the damage if there is no annotations. Have proof), mold in the showers, toilet wouldn't flush properly, hair in the blankets, etc. The list could go on. If you go in the winter be prepared to have the main living area not fully heated due to the wall heater not having the power to heat the space. However, the bedroom does get cozy which was nice. Overall, I would want to go back and try a beach view cottage because they are updated. Sadly, the male manager was very rude and has ruined my entire experience with Del Mar Cottages and because of him, I recommend others steer clear."

"Where else are you going to find such a pristine beach in San Diego county.? If you went to the Coronado Island, Hotel would have to deal so many tourists. I consider this an exclusive location. The rooms were clean. Everything was comfortable. It was wonderful."

"The walls are so thin, I can hear the next door people watching tv, mold all in the shower, the beds are TERRIBLE. The couches are what you would find 20 years ago. The only nice thing is that you are on the water. We stayed in December and used the oven to heat the place since the heaters didn’t work. The price is pretty cheap for an ocean view but that’s the only thing good."

"I’ve been going to Del Mar Resort every Oct for 7 years. This year was really bad for us. First, the lady in the office isn’t friendly. I stoped in at 3 pm to ask that my rooms be together, she did do that. She said come back at 4 pm. I came back and I didn’t get my key until 5:05 pm ( it shouldn’t take that long) also the day is almost gone by that time. No cleaning service or cleaning cart around, called down for towels and dish soap and garbage bags. ( a man came and dropped just those items off, no cart) I called down because the roll away bed mattress had no springs in it. She has attitude. We did get one at the end of the day after calling back to say we couldn’t sleep on the one we had. Finally, the day we were leaving, we got up to make breakfast and take showers, they turned the power and hot water off and didn’t tell us at 8 am. Unbelievable. I call down to the office. She said oh we told the wrong section. I talked to the manager and he said, you can still take a shower in cold water and do the dishes in cold water. We had biscuits and gravy half cooked at 8 o’clock , we had to throw our breakfast away, we had to go out and get breakfast. I didn’t want to wash the dishes in cold water, he said if you don’t wash them we will charge you. I did the dishes but to me that isn’t sanitary, Covid is still around and it’s not fair for the next people to use them. 3 of us had to catch a plane with wet hair. They didn’t even care. Well, I won’t be going back and I’ll find another place with good customer service. My opinion- the beach is beautiful but the cottages are starting to get ran down, prices are going up and service is unacceptable. Also, you would think they would had giving me a discount for all our troubles but they didn’t and didn’t apologize."
