"After walking through the property today, this Montage is definitely the nicest hotel in the Orange County area. It is pristine, and the views of the Pacific Ocean are spectacular. We considered this hotel during our visit to the area, and while we were happy staying at the Park Hyatt Aviara, this property definitely has nicer views. The restaurant for lunch and gift shop were both great experiences today. This property is worth the premium."

"Overall swing and a miss. First time actually staying at the property - been here for drinks 20 years ago or so right when it opened. All I can say is that our simple breakfast took over an hour after waiting an additional 30 minutes to be seated (only to find out that reservations would have helped this). They were unable to accommodate us on property for dinner - so they made us a reservation at a restaurant across the street. That experience is even worse as we sit here waiting 30 minutes past the reservation that was set to get seated. At these levels and this spend it needs to be handled a little better. We have spent the day touring my old favorite dives in Newport and experienced better service across the board. Rooms are meh - location is of course jaw dropping. There are plenty of five star reviews and experiences. I wish we had those moments."
