"4-star review based on expectations of a 2-star hotel. Rooms were clean and well appointed. Staff was friendly and courteous. No significant noise issues from either the freeway or adjacent rooms. Mattresses were on the firmer side, which were less comfortable for some members of our family. Also the mattresses were small smaller than the bedframes for some reason. Location is good - close to I210, many big-box stores, restaurants and a Starbucks a short walk away."
"My experience at Hotel Huntington was mixed. The manager's helpfulness provided a warm welcome. The outdoor facilities, though unavailable on Christmas Eve, appeared inviting and well-maintained. However, the room's facilities left much to be desired. The attempt to modernize the room felt half-hearted. The design was not user-friendly, with power sockets inconveniently hidden behind nightstand. Storage space was disappointingly scarce, with just a narrow TV cabinet and a small fridge topped with a microwave. This layout was impractical, as the limited sockets made it impossible to use the coffee machine and microwave simultaneously. The absence of a wardrobe was particularly inconvenient. We were left with a thin clothes rack, insufficient for hanging bulky winter jackets. Comfort was notably compromised. The room included unnecessary square back cushions in front of the sleeping pillows, which were unclean. Although the bathroom cabinets had a charming retro style, the absence of a hairdryer was a significant oversight. This room was the least comfortable in my 9-day Christmas journey. The hotel's potential is evident in its exterior and management, but the room design urgently needs rethinking to enhance guest comfort and convenience."
"Located in a great, walkable area central to coffee, food, shopping and local transit. The complex itself is cared for, staff is friendly, pool area is clean and vending machines work! The room looked a little different than photos I had seen online prior to booking but I wasn’t totally off put. Rooms have been renovated so my room had tile floor and new hardware/ paint. It was very clean and comfortable. The walls to the complex as super thin, you can hear neighbors from all sides entering/ exiting rooms, talking, etc. Being on the ground floor you are able to hear people passing/ suitcases rolling late into the night. If you’re looking for a decent, clean, no frills stay in an affordable room in a nice area central to essentials I would recommend Hotel Huntington."
"Have stayed here before as very convenient when visiting family. Room and hotel sparkling clean and decorated lovely. Staff always available and friendly. Would have liked a box of kleenex and bathroom floor mat...and easier way to close drapes in the room. There was no pull cord and had to get up on chair to reach top of drapes to close them entirely for the night. Otherwise, everything was fine!"
"I stayed for 5 nights between Oct 07 and 12. The room was simply shabby. The two key parts of a room was simply “disgusting”. The bathroom was just not clean. - the rolling door of the shower box was covered with dusts from weeks or months of negligence - the floor and wall tiles were full of dirt marks and stains. They were also cracking and were crumbling The bed was so shabby that it should not have been put to use to host guests - two of the four pillows were “lumpy”. The foam or feather inside has broken down into lumps and really had a very uncomfortable “hand feel”. Besides, they were smelly. and they were in odd sizes ( the pillow cases were almost 1,5 times larger than the pillows - the quilt was not a quilt. It was not even a blanket. It looked as if it were a thin layer of mattress pad wrapped in two layers of soggy bed-sheets. And as if the room was not disappointing enough, the strange and under-par house-keeping service was the last straw on the camel. - night 1, the bed was tidied and made up and all towels changed -night 2, the bed was tidied and made up; new towels on the racks but used towels left next to the wash basin and used floor towel left wet on the floor - night 3, new set of towel in place but the bed was not tidied and left messy as it was in the morning. - night 4, “Please Clean Room” door slab was hanged outside of door, the room ended up completely untouched. - night 5, God grace, nothing unusual"
