The Landsby

"We enjoyed our stay at the Landsby for location. The lobby is very nice and the bar attached is cozy and food is delicious. As for the room itself. we went for a Deluxe King Room for the balcony but it felt like we were in a motel. The heater was finicky and we had to call the front desk to help. They explained their heaters were inconsistent. The accommodations were ok but ambiance felt cold. Was really looking for the coziness they were able to create in the lobby and restaurant area. We paid extra for the deluxe room with a balcony but we wonder if the rooms within the hotel are more what we were looking for. The bathrooms were very much like a motel, the shower was clean but the water would do spurts of scalding hot water. All in all, great location, nice staff and lovely lobby/bar area, definitely not a 4-star hotel in terms of room."

"The hip decor isn’t worth the price. The hotel’s amenities were lacking for a holiday weekend. We booked in advance and were given no notice about the renovation. Nobody even said anything at check in. We found out when we couldn’t make breakfast reservations and ended up standing in line somewhere else. To us the nightly rate was way too high for this type of mishap. The mattress also needs help, very uncomfortable and you can hear people talking outside throughout the night at the fire pit. We didn’t get any rest here"

"Rooms are clean and modern. Beds are horrendous, it’s like laying on a poorly stuffed cotton sack they placed on pallets. Not to mention the rooms are not soundproof. You could hear everything going on inside and outside of the hotel. Check in/ out was smooth and easy. Felt very safe here. Parking was expensive per day. Near everything."

"Excellent location. Easy walk to Solvang’s bakeries and shops. Very helpful and cordial staff. The hotel restaurant’s cuisine is interesting and served well. Waffle for breakfast and calamari for dinner were good choices. Occasionally difficult to find parking space."

"Hotel is clean and rooms are nice. However, we put the do not disturb sign up and was rudely woken up by a housekeeper at 8am in the morning. She knocked incessantly and would not stop until I woke up to tell her to stop. I checked if the sign was out there and it was. We were woken up twice after that with one person walking right into the room after knocking."
