Hotel Ynez

"Very poor service at this hotel, we arrived during business hours and the lobby was closed for 30 minutes, requiring us to wait outside on a cold night. The staff had texted to ask our ETA, so they knew in advance when we were arriving. The GM and staff were unapologetic about the issues. I’ve never experienced anything like this at any hotel, and would recommend you find elsewhere to stay."

"Best accomodation to explore Solvang and Los Olivos! Beautifuly renovated, hosts are lovely! Pool is great, the room are beautiful, go for the upgrade for your own bar section where you can doing your own cocktails! Thanks!!!"

"Cute boutique hotel with lovely decor. We stayed in Classic room #2, which was cozy yet spacious. The communal grounds were beautiful, and the fire pits were a nice touch for the chilly evenings. Quick drive to the town of Solvang and Santa Ynez. Complimentary breakfast was yummy. We arrived at 12:30pm and figured we might as well see if there was a chance we could check in early, and we were thrilled when they had our room ready early for us. All staff members we encountered were very kind and helpful. Two super minor complaints: decorative throw on the bed seemed worn/dirty and should be replaced, and we were told we would recieve a 2-for-1 tasting at Sunstone, which was false. Both issues were not a big deal and we definitely enjoyed our stay here and the local area."

"The good: absolutely beautiful spot. Serene, relaxing and calming. Beautiful grounds. Room was great. Beds are super comfy. Super clean. Great area. Friendly staff Things to improve on: have a food bar perhaps with pre-made sandwiches. Fire pits are turned off at 930pm. This is the biggest “complaint”. We we’re enjoying ourselves sitting by the fore talking and had to call it a night at 930pm. Overall: highly recommend. Great place to stay if you want pure relaxation. We will come back."

"Unfortunately although it looks fantastic online, the social media and photos do a great job to create an air of luxury, there was some disappointing aspects. The feel is that a lot of money was poured in initially to great a great aesthetic, nice garden landscaping, a pool, etc. but then the money stopped. The rooms were not clean on arrival, we found a small amount of blood on two spots, the coffee machine was untouched and the counter had coffee stains from recent use. The patio looked unkept, no cover on the Jacuzzi, a cigarette butt and champagne wrapper, plus the fire pit needed a new battery (a guest shouldn't be the one to identify this on arrival). This lack of cleanliness expanded to the pool, the towels on each chair are stained - they are white and bleach could easily correct. Last negative - this is close to the road and that's not the fault of the hotel, but why not use the garden speakers to create ambiance? The positives - breakfast was nice and we enjoyed the quiche, the location is an easy drive to all the nearby towns, and the outdoor garden area was very pleasant to relax in and play bocce."
