Ascot Suites, Morro Bay

"The room was very far away from the elevator. There was no ice machine on the second floor where I was staying. There was not enough toilet paper supplied. No grab bars in the shower. The holder for the toilet paper was off the wall and on the floor. Agents at the desk were hard to find. The beds were extremely lumpy and uncomfortable! I would not stay there again."

"This was my fourth time staying at the Ascot Suites, Morro Bay. I am a customer from all the way back to the Frilly Days! This place was incredibly cute and so shabby chic back in the 2000's. The renovations in the last couple of years have been done to match a more streamline, modern time of today. Comfy bed and room was very clean. Fireplace did not work and I was bummed about that but they do have a built in heater over your bed...load and annoying but puts out. I book two nights at the attraction of the Valentines day Special of 186.00. Valentines Day and the next.......however our neighbors next to us had and on going party from 9:30 until 4:30 in the morning!!! Less than thrilled! HOWEVER after asking for a refund and choosing not to continue with my second night the General Manager reach out and took my disappointment to heart and listened and offered me a refund with concern and understanding for what was a most miserable nights stay...I think it was fair even though it was only half...but it was my choice to not take another room offered for the second night...They refunded me 96.00 dollars of my total bill of 185.00. It's a great location so close the the embarcadero...they need night attendance with these changing times of what rooms are used for these days, it's costly but it could help. A great GM, it could get better IMHO."

"My second stay at Ascot Suites was borderline awful. Upon entering my room after check-in, I found that my bed hadn't been made up and didn't have bedsheets. There were also no towels — I had to request them three times over many hours before someone bothered to bring them up. To add insult to injury, I was locked out of my room on my second night late in the evening because my room key stopped working. (It turns out Ascot Suites only had me in the system for 1 night, although I'd registered for 2 nights.) Because there is no employee manning the desk overnight, because the buzzer at the entrance was broken, and because my cell phone was back in my room, it took me more than two hours to find someone who would actually help me — an employee from ANOTHER hotel down the road — who was kind enough to walk back with me to Ascot Suites and use THEIR cell phone to call Ascot Suites' afterhours number. It's a real shame. I loved my first stay here, but my second, recent stay now makes me to want to explore other hotels in the area when I visit next time. Please do better, folks."

"The worst stay I have ever had. I currently work in the hospitality industry and I also have never gone out of my way to write a bad review. But, I am surprised this place is still open. We booked online and the photos looked great. Me and my family were celebrating a birthday. The stay included a complimentary glass of wine, that didnt exist. That was ok, though- no big deal. the lobby was very dirty. Once I got off the elevator to my floor, I noticed he hallways were FILTHY. There was a tiny room where you can grab ice and there was a microwave on a tiny little broken stool. The machine must have had a leak as there was soaking towels left on the floor as well as trash littered on the floor ( which never was picked up during the whole stay). Our room had obviously not been cleaned by housekeeping or they are purely lazy. I took many videos and photos. The floors were filthy, the bathroom floor was encrusted with THICK dirt and debris, pubic hair, the shower was still wet like if someone had just showered. The patio was again, filthy and full of bird poop and feathers stuck in cobweb. the place just overall looked like housekeeping didn't exist there. On side note, "breakfast was included", But yet at 8am there was not even coffee. The coffee maker in the room did not work and there was decaf only. Luckily, I'm not the type to let things go, and I hate when innocent people are screwed over. So, a scripted sorry response wont suffice. I have a very sick family member and we were charged a lot for that disaster of a stay. I WILL end up getting comped or I will be taking them to small claims and will contact OSHA as well."
