Lodge at Marconi

"I booked this hotel for its location but more for its interior design. It’s rather new and i love the mid century vibe plus attention to sustainability. Every furniture and all materials felt high quality. Hotel staff were friendly and cool, like REI people to me. Everything just felt integrated with the forest and sea beautifully. It was very dark and quiet at night so good for sleeping. The bed was comfortable though the mattress got hot. The bathroom was a bit small and the heater didn’t function well for us. It was raining during our stay so didn’t fully enjoy the outdoors and there’s nothing else to do in or near this hotel. Other than those I was satisfied and happy."

"Well I booked this place for my wedding anniversary trip. There was a forest and the sea, and the accommodation was beautiful. There was a storm and my tire was damaged, but I was happy thanks to the accommodation. I'm glad I found such a stylish accommodation. The California Residence has a 15% discount. Next time, I will make a reservation through the hotel's official website."

"Wow! What a wonderful and caring change to a cherished spot. I was a bit hesitant when I heard renovations, but what a great job they have done. The rooms have everything you can need, including ear plugs if those hoot owls get too loud. The notepad from telegram days was a favorite of mine. Where the new Marconi really shines is the employees, each person I ran into, from desk staff to the cleaning crew was kind and helpful. I will be back for sure."

"We stayed last weekend when another family with lots and lots of kids was having an event there. The hallways served as a playground for these kids as they ran up and down the stairs, slammed doors, and screamed for hours and hours. I love kids and I realize they have a lot of energy but I think a playground on the premises might have helped the other quests enjoy a more peaceful evening. Or, insulation in the walls may have helped too. The little mouse that was in our room was quiet, so that's good!"

"Just stayed at the newly renovated lodge for an event I hosted there and: 1. It. Is. Gorgeous. The park is just beautiful and peaceful, the bay is amazing, and it's so quiet and lovely I can't wait to go back. 2. The newly renovated lodge is quite nice -- the rooms are clean and simple but nicely appointed. You even get an umbrella and a lantern in case it rains (and it did!) or you want to wander about at night and sit outside to hang with your friends. And the fire pit is a lovely place to sit at and enjoy the evening. 3. The staff is amazing. Kind, thoughtful, friendly, and helpful from Leah the hotel manager and Sandra and Daniel the event folks, as well as Dawn and Brian and all the way down to the housekeepers and maintenance folks (I'm sure I'm forgetting some tho!). 4. The food: We had an event there and had our weekend meals catered by Marconi. I'll be honest--I expected the food to be OK, but it blasted right through my expectations -- Chef Erik and his team from Belfare came up with some of the best food I've had at *any* event -- and did an amazing job of handling dietary restrictions and food allergies that some of our guests had. And they were incredibly helpful and thoughtful to boot. Summary: would gladly host an event and/or stay there again."
