"We needed a get away that we could afford. Bodega Harbor inn was a nice experience. The setting is amazing and close to all the amenities available. Breathtaking sunset. Quiet nights. We can’t wait to go back!"
"It's clean and cleaned daily. The front desk was super personable and the cleaning staff aimed to please. I like the fact my dog could be there and the location was great. However, I was there during a storm and they don't have a generator so I was without electricity for the day and fortunate I had brought a flashlight."
"Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We drove from SF looking for an affordable one night stay out of the city. Bodega Harbor Inn was perfect for just that due to the location and accommodations. The room we stayed in had access to a private hot tub overlooking the bay (shares with 1 other room). It also has private access to the bay with a patio and charcoal grill. The room was clean, minimal with everything you need and quiet. Couldn’t hear the road at all. There’s a smart TV so you can login to your streaming platforms and watch a movie. Location is perfect, on the water and near all the restaurants and coffee shops. The gas station is a quick walk away to get any extra drinks or snacks. The guests staying next to us, said they’ed been coming here every year for over 30+ years. And I get it, it’s truly peaceful, quaint and refreshing. We had such a wonderful quick stay here. Will be back!"
"Let’s start with the obvious: I think a 5-star overall review is warranted. But I also thing a 3-star review for the rooms themselves is also appropriate. I have stayed at this place for years now. I stayed in the small rooms with slanted floors and barely enough room to share with your thoughts (though enough room, in one case, to share with a colony of ants that had made it their home). I stayed in the slightly larger rooms, still small, though with a stoop, or for a bit more, a deck and some chairs that look out over the bay. I’ve gone from paying not so much to paying double that (case in point: with tax, my room this visit was north of $200). That isn’t a complaint. I urge someone to find a place with this sort of location and ‘atmosphere’ for a lower price. I would wait, but I can cut to the chase: you won’t. Over the years, the front desk staff have been uniformly wonderful (even the one person who wore enough Patchouli oil to kill a mid-sized elephant). The location is, again, unbeatable (esp. after a long drive down 101/1). There is a certain charm to the scruffy nature of this place, esp. once you know its history and have taken a gander at the old photos in the lobby. You pull into the gravel lot and instantly feel like you are not staying at a chain or an over-priced boutique where you have to walk around on egg (or abalone) shells. But, again, the rooms reflect the nature of the place itself, if occasionally being more (or less) than just quirky. Internet, since I have stayed here, has always had a mind of its own. Same, too, the heat (or lack thereof, or slooooowly increasing in degrees) of the water flowing from the spigots and nozzles. There are scuffs and dents in the walls. There are also gaps both large and small around the doors (which is a thing to consider in colder months with just a rudimentary baseboard electric heater). Over the years, improvements have been made. Case in point? The interesting lights that now exist over the beds. Another case in point? Better TVs. Again, this is a retrospective review. But there is always coffee (meh) in the room and in the lobby, enough towels, some toiletries, and a comfy bed on which to rest your head. You might have to get creative with plugging in things. But you could do worse. And again, the location and the vibe—which are the real draws—have not changed. Beautiful location. Great staff (including those doing the housekeeping when you wake up). It is well worth what I used to pay and still worth what I am paying now. I guess I am a sucker for this sort of place and want to support it so that it never closes and leaves me with no place to stay in Bodega Bay. Jenner? You think I want to stay in Jenner? Come on! ------------------------------------------------------- [One small sidebar: if you have a complaint about something beyond the place’s control, like the neighbors, then you don’t debit the place. Common sense. And this is a coastal town not named Mendocino or Bandon. You are going to get some townie types doing what they do; after all, they live here and you are just visiting. So, go easy on the inn (which makes me laugh, as I don’t consider the Bodega Harbor Inn an inn, even if they do provide amenities that many places of this sort don’t even consider offering).]"
"This place is awesome. George runs this place and works the front counter. Proves are good runs are clean and consistent. Walking distance to restaurants and Lottie grocery store and south shack. The lawn area is lined with Adirondack chairs that overlook the bay. This last time I was there the weather was clear and calm and the bay was unusually calm. This is a bit rare for Bodega so this was very nice. Perfect weather for hiking around the heads and from the hills behind Bodega I bushwhacked up the tallest hill I could see. From up there there was a beautiful clear view of Bodega Bay, Tomales Bay, and you could also see Point Reyes. Check out the panoramic photo."
