"Decent affordable room, and friendly front desk service. The area the motel is in is a bit sketchy so I don't recommend leaving anything valuable in your car. Some things in the room were damaged and dated, but it was clean over all, with no bugs or pests anywhere. It was also very quiet, and the split system kept the room nice and warm all night."
"This is a sold 2 to 3 star motel. The rooms have been updated but this is a budget friendly place. Some of the rooms on the left side of the motel have an incredible view of the peach and ocean. The rooms on the right side overlook a parking lot. So the view varies. The staff were really friendly and helpful. They are excited to see you and serve you. We stayed in the three queen bed room but were disappointed to find that the beds were actually fulls."
"My partner and I ended up choosing the Anchor Beach Inn because a) they accept dogs for a fee b) we read a lot of negative things about that other ocean facing motel that's not too far away and has Ocean in the name. We stayed at Anchor Beach Inn for three nights in December, and here's my thoughts on it: Good stuff: - the room we ended up in did look like the pictures. It was clean and comfortable enough - we greatly appreciated the view of the ocean. - there is an RV park that's directly behind the hotel. Lucky for us it was empty (seasonal?) - couldn't hear our neighbors once we were in the room - dog loved being able to walk to the beach - it's fun to walk around and explore the beach, marina and nearby restaurants - the staff kept the morning coffee fresh - the staff was pleasant to us - the price was good - they do have coin laundry (I didn't use it so can't speak to the price and/or condition) Stuff I didn't like: - the parking lot and walk ways are filthy and could use a pressure washing - EV charging is $15 a night. That's fine for full EV cars, but not worth it for those of us with PHEVs - the breakfast is a paper bag that you can fill with an orange, apple, and prepackaged muffins; this disappointed me - our room didn't come with a do not disturb hanger Would I stay again? We would definitely stay again in the fall or winter. In the high season, it would depend on the price and how crowded the property feels."
"After his exhilarating day exploring Carl’s Barrel Road and Crescent City Beach, Los, the adventurous German Shepherd, and his owner decided to stay at the Anchor Bay Motel. Known for its dog-friendly policies, the motel was the perfect choice for them. Los was welcomed with open arms, which made them both feel right at home. The motel provided a comfortable and relaxing environment, where Los could rest his paws after a day full of activities. The next day, they set out to explore the famous Redwoods. These majestic trees, some of the tallest and oldest on Earth, provided a completely different atmosphere from the beach and the hiking trail. The parts of the Redwoods that were accessible to dogs were a wonderland for Los. He was fascinated by the towering trees and the myriad of scents that filled the air. The forest floor, covered in a carpet of ferns and fallen leaves, was soft under his paws, and the cool, fresh air was invigorating. Los and his owner spent hours wandering through these ancient woods, feeling small under the immense canopy. The tranquility of the forest was a stark contrast to the lively beach and rugged hiking trail, offering them a chance to slow down and appreciate the quiet beauty of nature. Their stay at the Anchor Bay Motel and the visit to the dog-friendly parts of the Redwoods were the perfect end to Los’s adventure in Crescent City. It was a trip filled with diverse experiences, from the thrill of hiking and playing on the beach to the peacefulness of the⬤"
