"I just got off the phone with Susan to tell her “Thanks to you and Jim, I finally feel at home again!” Last year I moved from San Mateo to San Diego with my biotech company, an opportunity I couldn’t resist. I had worked with Susan in the past to transform my two bedroom condo in downtown San Mateo into a homey retreat from the sterile lab environment where I worked. Soon after moving to San Diego, I bought a house and worked with a designer to renovate my dated 1970’s home in the suburbs. After moving in, I still had to finish furnishing and making the place my own. But I felt at a loss as to what to do next, and was very stressed as to how to finish and didn’t know how to find the next best thing to Susan in San Diego who could help. I took a chance, called Susan to enlist her help and was absolutely thrilled to hear that she and Jim would be able to personally finish my project. And when I say help, I mean multiple visits from them to work with the furniture and artwork I already had, to add fabulous pieces that complemented my style and to choose wall colors that would transform my new home into the cozy retreat I enjoyed in San Mateo, just on a larger scale. I would say that Susan and Jim give the most complete service there is in terms of total design, from furniture placement, hanging artwork, selecting lighting, finding unique furniture and fabrics to complete my new home. It is a joy to watch Susan walk from room to room, and to see the wheels turning to make each room unique and special, to make the most of awkward spaces, and to create a flow within my home that makes sense. I found it easy to give myself over and trust her artistic process. I now have a house that is warm, cozy and hugs me from the moment I walk in the front door until I close my eyes at night in my peaceful bedroom. There are still a few details to complete next year when my budget allows. For example, I will need window treatments in certain rooms and since this is another of Susan’s specialties I have no doubt she will make them fabulous. Until then I am thankful to Susan and Jim for making the process as easy and stress free as possible considering the fact that they have been able to accomplish so much in just a few months from as far away as Livermore."

"Our interaction with Castle Comfort started 7-1/2 years ago when we picked up their business card off the store front door. Through the years we have thoroughly enjoyed working with Susan, Jim and their staff on a redo of our home’s interior. Susan even got involved in selecting the color for our backyard deck. We were very tired of our white walls and some of our 20-year old furniture. The Castle Comforts decorators helped us select drapes, carpeting, flooring (carpet, hardwood and linoleum), lighting, wall hangings, paint (lots of color/no more white walls), and furniture.
