"We’ve been back a few times for the Tuesday night date special (bottle of wine, appetizer, pizza, and dessert for $60). Specials aside, the food is tasty and the wine selection is great! The atmosphere and staff are warm and friendly. A quick new favorite of ours as we’re new to Madison!"
"Went for dinner last night. It was a Monday evening and crowded was thin. Nevertheless I called ahead to book a table and was seated by the window. Small cute place. My dining mate had an amber ale and I had the sweet red wine to kick off our dinner. The wine was good. It tasted more like sprite mixed with red wine - sweet and sparkling. We ordered the pork confit for appetizer. Served in a small iron skillet, the pork was very in tender and delicious. It is not unlike pulled pork except you do the pulling apart. Served with slices of bread, brown mustard sauce and pickles peppers. Watch out for the peppers. They are spicy! We also shared a beet salad which was also wonderful. It is probably one of the better beet salad I've had. A mixed of red and orange beets with some greens. Lovely to look at and tasty. For the main dish we shared a Jabroni pizza with Italian sausage. I love the thin crust since I'm on a low carb diet. The cut up basil leaves were fresh and not baked or burnt. The chili flakes weren't distributed evenly so some parts were spicy and some weren't. It was delicious still. I would love this more if the pesto wasn't baked because it appears more brown/black instead of fresh green. I would still recommend this place for dinner."
"I'm a Floridian. I haven't been too impressed with food in Wisconsin.... till now. EXCELLENT ALL AROUND! Jodi was amazing and all her suggestions were great. MUST TRY"
"I had heard several good things about Grampa's before coming and it did not disappoint. The service was friendly and very good. I have never had calamari appetizer like I had here. It is not breaded like most restaurants do. It was excellent. I really enjoy a good pizza and there pizza was amazing! Lots of specialty pizzas to choose from on the menu. I definitely recommend and I will be back. Loved it!"
"Despite the nice ambiance, service was extremely slow, and the pizza was disappointing. We ordered the Goomba pizza (which is hardly a pizza and more of a thin flatbread), and it was very dry and burnt in several areas. By far the saltiest pizza we have ever had, with chunks of salt throughout. Hoping this was just an off night but would not recommend."
